Do you see the M10/45 going up in price or sitting still for a while? Want to sell...

LONG STORY SHORT... are Mac10/45 prices going anywhere fast or should I sell?

I take my M10/45 out occasionally and its fun but honestly I am holding it assuming it will jump a little in price, but I will get more gains in literally any market I invest in (sure we will pull back, but generally speaking, markets will get me more gains).

I haven't done my research recently, but I feel like all MAC focus and "want" lists are for the M11 for obvious upgrade reasons. Do you think the M11 is going to have the M10 on the back burner for a while minus regular MG price inflation?

I honestly think the m11/9 is blowing the other Macs out of the market, Next best would be an m11. The M10's are increasing but slowly, especially compared to it smaller brother.

The selling or keeping part of it will be up to you in the end.

Just my opinion.

^ beat me to it.

The M11/9 is the one that will skyrocket within 2 years of the .556 upper hitting the market. The others will be drug upwards along with it but will lag (in comparison) until a .556 upper is adapted to them as well.

How much will the M11/9 increase? Within two years of release I expect them to have a low of $10k with some pushing $12k.

Your M10 will have a floor of 8.5 with the upper ceiling at 10.

10 years from now I think you'll be upset seeing the going prices knowing you sold yours for $6850. Would seem like you totally threw it away in retrospect. No other MG will have the rise percentage wise in the near term compared to the Mac family.

Lage has a history of getting around to the M10 after the M11 stampede slows down.

It's much smaller than other valuables. Oil it and keep it. You'll be glad that you did.

mac 10's were $6,500 NIB and some POS used ones as low as $4,850 when i bought mine....maybe 1.5-2 years ago

now there are no NIB M10's and a PS M10/45 isnt as common to see right now...most are M10/9's, the few M10/45's are other brand names...im seeing asking prices $7,500-$8,000....Macs have all gone up in price $1-2k recently....checking M11/9's there are few to be had....M11/a1's large mag well rare as usual.....i think they are all going up, but of course the M11/9 should be rising quicker...

ive got a decent collection and i find myself going back to the mac 10 over other guns to shoot....i enjoy the hell out of it

why you want to sell it?

its gone up 20% in 2 years....i would guess it will go up another 20% in 2 more years

Lage had said at one point he was going to look at the 5.56 upper for the M11/380 and M10 once he is done with the M11/9 version. I could see that bringing up the value.

Same if anyone decides to do caliber conversions again. If Sam at Practical solutions gets his 22 conversions again or lage ever gives in and does 22 conversions for his stuff I could see that helping. Same if you had other pistol caliber stuff.

You did well on the 11/9, not so sure on the JAWS though!

Sold it to a FFL. Didn't feel like waiting. I made enough money for me to be comfortable and they can make some.

Market is actually quite soft right now. A lot of askers for M10/45s at 7500-8k but not seeing a lot of movers. HKs seem dead and certain people are asking absurb money.

If you want to be talked out of selling yoMac style RR, this certainly is the place. If you're bored with a gun and don't like it certainly sell it get something you want more. If you're strictly looking for an investment I think now is a horrible time to sell.

Mac style RR have been the bottom of the barrel or close to the bottom of the barrel for quite some time. Lage products certainly has pull them from the very bottom. I think more than the Lage 5.56, the Mac reciever design and machine gun price index has reached critical mass. Five or 10 years ago no one would consider a $3,000 5.56 conversion. At that time a $2,000 Mac plus a $3,000 conversion compared to a $8,000 off-brand M16 isn't realistic. Now and $7,000 Mac style RR plus a $3,000 conversion is only half that off brand M16 today.

Even beyond on the Lage offering at $3,000, this price point for a conversion, I think this will bring much more innovation especially to the design of the Mac style RR. Most every machine gun design has some kind of cavity for where the bolt is and some kind of housing for the Fire Control. Since the lower portion of the receiver with the Fire Control is the registered part it is much easier to make a conversion for a Mac style registered receiver then it would be for a Sten or a FNC. Also the Mac family represents almost 15% of the transferable machine guns in the US. I think with a $3,000 price point more Innovation is bound to happen.

I think with this critical mass of the price of the receiver and the possibility of conversion I can see the market value of the max style of registered receiver going up significantly. I cannot think of another class or model of registered receiver machine gun that is poised for such development. But like I said ultimately it's your gun. If you want to sell it sell it. I'm personally buying not selling. YMMV.

Do you really think things are going to stay just the way they are now? Richard and Sam make great products. They are not going to be the only sources for Mac style RR conversions. I see real innovation coming to the Mac style RR platform. I think .22lr and belt fed innovations are just around the corner. Certainly there are many more M11/NINEs then there are M10s. But with the larger, heavier frame of the M10, maybe that will lend itself to a conversion that the smaller, lighter M11/NINE can't do so well. Maybe the wider heavier M10 might be better suited to some applications. The caliber .308 comes to mind.

If the M16/AR-15 mechanism can be adapted to the Mac style RR, how about the HK roller locked or the AK mechanisms? Anyone interested in a M11-5 (based on the MP5) or a M10-51 (based on the .308 HK 51)? Or how about a M11/9-74U (based on the AK74U)? Maybe even a M10-RPD beltfed? With an HK sear in the low $30,000 range and a RR AK in the Upper $20,000, I think anyone of those options are possible in the $3,000 to $6,000 range using a Mac style RR. With the magwell out beyond the Mac style receiver, there are all sorts of possibilities. No one is going to do such things with a retail price of $900. But with $3,000 as a starting point, innovators will have a margin to pay investors a return. All of that could happen in the next five years IMHO. YMMV.

I have a m16a2 and an hk sear. I personally would love a good 22 conversion for the m10. That or beltfed anything. Don't really care past that.
