Does anybody here besides me have a gun at BWE?

I sent an Uzi pistol some parts to Richard about three years ago for a micro conversion, and he was never able to work on it. I saw on Youtube (don't remember where I saw it) that the family was working to get peoples guns back to them, but nobody has contacted me about my parts.

The BWE web page doesn't indicate anything has changed, but I wanted to tread lightly due to the nature of the situation. Does anybody have any insight on this, or can anyone recommend an appropriate way to proceed?

Hope things work out for you & hope it isn’t a transferable he had had for that long…

Fwiw, Andrewski does nice micro conversions if-when you get your stuff back.

I’d suggest calling or writing a letter if you can’t get ahold of someone by phone…. You want them to know what to be looking for asap….

Same here. I paid for one back in April of 2020 when he couldn't get barrel blanks from his supplier and then he hit his rough patch. I also ordered a top cover in December of 2020 that he never got to...

I have no idea how organized or accessible BWE’s records are, but I imagine it would still be difficult to step into Richard’s world and figure out everything he had going on. Since it sounds like the family is making a good faith effort to sort everything out, it might actually be helpful to them to write a polite letter indicating what you sent and would like back. Might help them put one more piece of the puzzle in place.

It's just rough all the way around for all concerned. His wife took care of all/most of the office side of the business and she passed sadly. With all the family loss and complexity of a serious 07/03 family type business, I don't expect any type of re-recovery of anything really. Again bottom line, tragic loss idk what else anyone can say or expect.

This conversation just makes me sad. I have one of Richard's semi receivers. I built a parts FS semi Uzi that is just fun to shoot. Richard fixed my spare 9mm bolt as well. He was great to talk to and filled gaps in my knowledge by explaining how and what I needed to do. I learned a lot in a short period of time. That was years ago and I think about building that gun and Richard every time I clean that gun when I wipe down the BWE serial number.

Indeed, very sad as well. I watch his many great MG/SMG videos knowing he is gone from this world. At times think ... hope his two children are somehow doing okay?
