Where I live there were five of us that went in on a group buy for seven of them. All of them have been flawless.

A friend of mine bought one last week and wanted to use my range to try it out. Not owning a Century product and after hearing all the talk about them. I was expecting his Draco to be a problem. I was very surprised at how well his Draco was put together. No canted sights or any other problems I had heard about. The front sight was adjusted exactly in the middle of the sight block. When fired at 50 yds from a bench it was shooting dead center, both windage and elevation. Not bad for an AK right out of the box. We fired over 500 rounds of FMJ and hollow points through it that day. Not one malfunction of any kind. The finish is not as nice as on my polish underfolder and the wood needs to be refinished. However the rivets and over all assembly are every bit as good if not better. It's nice and tight and well made. Based on his I would buy one in a minute.

Picked up one of these Draco's from J&G Sales for $299 2 days ago and have not been disappointed at all. Fit and finish is great with average wood and everything tight as should be. This one has the Dark red rear grip which i wanted also. I was also surprised at how accurate it was without adjusting anything. 12 inch steel plates at 100 yards no problem and can bust a clay target on the ground at 50 yards easy.Trigger is crisp and clean with no slap at all. Wish i had picked up one sooner.

Got my wife one for an early xmas gift and it runs great. She loves the AR pistol so this was a natural for her, big flash and boom. Put a couple hundred rounds of wolf HP through it with no problems. Looks good, the wood could use some touching up though. The front sight is canted a little, but no big deal. The thing that makes up for all the little things is it has an underfolder rear trunion in it, easy SBR.

The Draco's are made in Romania, not by the century "monkeys".

These are Romanian AK Draco handguns in 7.62x39 caliber, Matte black finish, new receiver. Barrel has integral front sight & gas tube. Has a muzzle-nut, wood fore stock which may be laminated or standard wood, plastic pistol grip which may be black or reddish, and one magazine. Uses any standard AK double stack mag or drum. This is a handgun, see below for shipping details. This firearm was assembled by Century Arms International and may contain both new US made parts and original used surplus parts. May or may not include cleaning rod.

That is an erroneous disclaimer on their part. The Draco, just like the WASR AKs, are built and assembled in Romania. If it accepts the high cap mags (the wasr), then the fire control group may end up being exchanged for us made parts, which I suppose technically make it "assembled by Century" but the whole makeup of the firearm itself, such as the receiver, the rivets, the barreling etc. is done IN Romania. Century had (and may still have it) a disclaimer on a bunch of semi rifles that they would NOT ship them to Florida..yet....I have been purchasing and receiving them for years. Sometimes disclaimers are wrong.

I am going to get one of these neat pistols!!!

I have been mulling it over and I have decided to get one or two of these neat little pistols and SBR them so that it will be an even more fun range toy. I think I will install that cool looking Noveski Pig flash hider on it. I like the look of the wood fore-ends and will keep that stock look and frankly, I think a wood butt stock may look great as well, if not that then an under folder. Then again maybe one full wood stock and one under folder! Anyway, cool little product. I am in. Stupid gun toys!!! I can only resist for so long.

How do the Dracos compare with AMD65 pistols?

Is either a better platform to build an SBR?

I did the same thing but mines an underfolder with that extension welded on.
Had it out last week, probly the best shooting AK I've ever owned even with the shorter barrel.
Best THing I like is how the recoil isn't so sharp.

Really tossing around SBR'n it

Whos' rail system do you have on that?

Here is what I had done:

Started with a base Draco AK 7.62x39

· Ultimak M1-B Scout Rail

· Ultimak Long Lower Rail

· Ace folding mechanism

· Ace buffer tube adapter

· M4 6 position buffer tube mil-spec

· Magpul stock

· Hogue grip

· A2 extended flash

· CNC Warrior 4” barrel extension

· Tapco G2 trigger

· Blast – Parkerize – Duracoat in "HK black"

I bought a Draco just before they seemed to all disappear. Recently they seem to have reappeared as I see more offered on GB now, and found several for sale at a gun show a few weeks back. Thing is, they are now asking $500+ for the ones I looked at recently.

I really like mine and have had no trouble with it, performs well and the fit and finish are good. I have the most fun shooting it near dusk as it will shoot a flame about 3 feet out. A blast to shoot-pun intended!

Ah yes the Draco snapped one of those up last week. a Nov 2011 import. that sat in the box new for almost two years.

all military. probably made from a romanian folder had 1969 dated trunion block.and under folder rear trunion.and all military parts including trigger group marked> C Draco.

Maybe for Count Dracula.

looks like another sbr project in the future.
And i like them. and i have owned every type of AK coming down the pike.:D:
I would suggest if anybody likes the shorty's to pick one up. yeah sure they went up in price. but some will wait till they no longer import. Then they will want one. Mossad 1
