Lately I've been using Federal American Eagle; mainly because I can get it for $175/K. Other than that I've put a ton of Wolf through my Reising and Thompson.

WWB is my ammo of last resort; it's cheap, but dirtier than the Wolf.

I don't use wolf because I'm afraid the steel cases will mess up the extractor. However, I use everythign else and have never had a feed issue.

Why do you say WWB is dirtier then Wolf...? With Winchester's powders being so good, I would say Win. ammo shoots pretty dog-gone clean.....

What prices are you getting 45acp WWB for? I am finding Federal AE cheaper than WWB.

Question to you 45acp reloaders out there...... What do you think of Winchester's BRILLIANT IDEA to make 45acp brass that uses SP primers? i.e.: Win. NT ammo. I will save my comments for later.................

I've been running the Russian (non-Wolf) ammo for a couple of years. Recently, ran some Wolf through it. So far, so good for all.

Does anyone sell spare extractors, in case I do mess it up?

Dumb, dumb, dumb. When it gets mixed with the standard .45 ACP range brass you'll be stuck separating it. Those that sneak through will crush primers. Oh, and it screws up all the reloading recipies.

I have shot some Winchester USA, Remington UMC, and S&B, but I generally shoot my reloads (Win 231/Zero 230 FMJ).
The cast RN bullet loads make a nice smoky mess, so they're good for showing off, I guess.

Yeah, I do the same thing: 231 & Zeros.

I tried some polymer coated bullets one time. They cost less than plated or jacketed, and supposedly don't smoke. There was some smoking, but it wasn't bad. They did leave a hard residue in the comp, though. I think I'll shoot up the remainder of those in a pistol or my MAC10 with no comp. They didn't seem to lead the barrel.

So far, I've only used Federal American Eagle. Runs fine, shoots clean, relatively cheap. What's not to like?
