since when did prompt return of emails become such a priority

I don't know.

When was common courtesy invented? 3000 BC ?

There's no other industry where the customers tolerate horrible service and rudeness the way we do.

You read stuff in the gun forums like this:

"Well Bob shipped the gun in a crappy box and the stock cracked and he refused to replace it, but he's a great guy!"

And here in this thread we have this beauty that replies to emails once a year whether he needs to or not.

WOW THAT'S GREAT!!

Y'know, many of us are reasonable folk, who do understand that someone with a busy job, running a one-person gun biz, may take a day or three to return an e-mail. I wouldn't hold that against a guy in deciding whether to do biz with him, given any sort of reasonable explanation. No BFD.

That said- your statement above didn't have much to do with this situation, or at least my experience (as apparently shared by some others). "Promptness" isn't really the issue. RETURN of the e-mail request is. The saying "better late than never" comes to mind, as this gent- evidently a nice guy from most accounts- seems to be perfectly okay with "never".

I'm not gonna keep piling on, I am glad that some others have had good experiences, and I am out nothing. I'll just repeat that, if I can't get a hold of a guy to take my money (and it's basically a retail price, not a super-steal worth chasing hard), I can't help but question how difficult it would be to get a response after he HAS my money if I have a problem with my purchase.
