Anyone seen one like this? It’s M10 size. I got it and two common looking jigs in an estate/collection. Guy was a serious machinist, wondering if he made it…..

May have made it because he could. Cheaper to make chips with scrap already in the chowder box than buy one somebody else made. I do so many things with the junk in my chowder box.

And he may well have bought the commercial version, took one look at it and said I can make a better one. Or maybe he tried it and found some deficiency he could address with his own.

Before you have at it. Get some measurements. That might be out of spec or a Joe Bob yada yada set up, which might still work but will require you to make special trigger and selectors if it is to wide. Before you bend a flat. Maybe show this to Sam? These pics might help as well? YMMV. Good luck.

Remember in school when students would ask why they had to learn math? I worked in a machine shop that had a set of calipers that were so long it took two people to operate them, so that they could measure thousands of an inch at the end of the 5’ electric motor.
