In my post from 2008 you can see the filler piece in the bolt.

Interesting. Your kit looks quite a bit different than the one I have. I assume mine is probably an earlier variant. I’ll spend some time combing through that thread but just skimming over it quickly, emotions seem to have run hot! I wish the link CSMWLTD posted was still active. I’d like to be able to read that one as well.

What part is the aluminum filler piece that you mentioned?

Pretty sure my M10 upper does not have a aluminum filler piece as I've foumd up to 5 empty mangled cases in it when I tear it down to clean.
That's about every 500 rounds or so. You can see and hear the cycle rate start to drop when it gets all gunked up.
So I guess it eats 1% of the empties and it just chugs along.

The Fleming does do better with cases in the works than the Lage 22. I too have found cases inside that didn't affect performance. I've also seen cases fall out of the grip magazine well when others were shooting it.

It is easiest to see in the second picture. It is anodized black instead of the parked finish of everything else. In the bottom right of ejection port you can see the button head allen bolt that hgolds it in.

Wow, great discussion on the maga. I have a ton of Ramlines, Eagles and Tactical Incs. I need to figure out why some work and others done.

Side question - what loader does everyone use? I have broken 2 McFadden Lighting Loaders and won't buy another one.

My M10-22 has a little shield as mentioned earlier.

To get mine to work I have to keep the upper lubed and clean, bullets need some lube and I always use a can. I have only use Blazer or CCI standard, I might need to expand on my choices of ammo.

Get another Lightning Loader. Nothing beats it!

I have one that I broker after 10’s of thousands of rounds. It still works, just got to jerry rig it because a tab broke. I bought another one and it’s worth every penny.

It looks like something that goes around the right side of the barrel. Is that correct? Any idea how that benefits the ejection?

I just use my thumb to load mags like the knuckle dragging savage I am!

I wonder if a 3D printed shield/deflector could be used to keep reciprocating mass to a minimum?

It fills where cases would fall into the receiver. It has a taper out from where the cases would be extracted. I'll try to get better pics this weekend.

As to ammo, round nose Mini Mags have worked well while the hollow points jam on the barrel. The CCI subsonic HPs have done ok. I’ve actually had the best luck with Fiocchi plated RN 1240fps.

I’ll keep tinkering and experimenting with different ammo, mags, moon phases, tongue position, etc. The beautiful thing about .22 is even when it’s being difficult, at least it’s cheap.
I found that these Aguilas work pretty well, but they smell like cat piss when shot...
