I'd received the bolt a few days ago, and have been very impressed with the quality of the part! hopefully, I'll never break the original bolt on my carbine, but it is good to have a replacement, should need arise. Thanks again, Navgunner!

I got mine as well- it is a work of art! Big thanks to Navgunner for taking this on- I let him know if he ever makes any other FNC parts to put me on the list right away! I don’t even need to know what it is first- that’s how nice the bolt is!

Thank you Navgunner,
My new FNC bolt arrived in perfect condition.

NEW FNC BOLT… Let that sink in.

This project is a huge undertaking and a great success in the FNC world. The bolt seems to be one of the things that breaks on these guns that are just impossible to find out there.

Now with a few bolts circulating around we can get those incomplete guns back in operation and not feel so afraid to pull them out to enjoy shooting again.

So…
Bolt Carriers next? Gas Blocks? Small Parts?
?

Thank you so much, @deadduck!

I may do carriers at some point in the future, but no promises.

For now, I’ve made some mag release button kits that I’ve posted in the for sale section here on UT. I made those for a good friend that lost his. While reverse engineering the buttons I realize that #1 it’s plastic, and #2 mine was broken too. It became a necessity and I didn’t even know it.

The round mag buttons are easy to find. The civilian oval shaped are difficult.

All orders shipped this past Monday, January 6th 2025. I believe that I got everybody their tracking information, but if for some unknown reason you were missed, please let me know. Once you receive your bolts, I encourage everybody to post their first impressions here on this thread.

This project was a massive undertaking, so please accept my heartfelt thank you to individuals who supported the endeavor along the way. My intent has stayed the same from start to finish… to help those in need to restore their rifles back to working order, and for all others to provide some sense of security that their rifles will continue to function for the next generation. Also, it’s my belief that the value of all FNCs (here in the US) will increase too, which is a big win for everyone, regardless if you purchased a new bolt or not.

As stated above, there’s a small quantity of bolts sill available for those interested in purchasing. I’d sure appreciate your help selling these remaining bolts so I can recoup my investment (as you all know by now, this was very, very expensive project). Ultimately, I’d like to get started producing additional parts (like the FNC carrier assembly), but I’ll need to finish selling these bolts before I can get started. Thanks in advance for your continuing support.

Respectfully,

Nav
Please let us know how it's going selling the other bolts. If it's slow I'd be more than willing to buy a second one just to help you recoup costs.

Thank you for checking in! There was an initial rush after preorders were delivered but that seems to have subsided. I do have bolts left but don’t expect there to be another run. Like the Green Mountain barrels, everyone wants these parts to be really available, but when it comes time to purchasing well.. that’s another story. I want the stuff to exist, so I’m happy to contribute where I’m able but I don’t want to leverage myself too much if there’s not some ROI. Really, I just love the FNC too much not to keep going.

That being said, I can’t thank those of you who participated in preorders because I could not have done it without you!

Yes, if you’d like another bolt, I’m honored to sell you one. Once they dry up, they’ll be worth more money. Purchase directly from me like last time or I’ve got listed on my rag tag website navgunner.com & GB.

I’ve been spending the week at SHOT Show showing everybody and there’s been some interest here. We’ll see how that goes.

I went to the range today to heat up my post sample (sear) FNC. I ran it pretty hard using one of my NAVGUNNER bolts and had no mechanical issues whatsoever. I’ll pin a video at the bottom of this post for your viewing pleasure. Needless to say I’m very pleased with the way that the bolts turned out.

Aside, the upper has an interesting story: I bought it recently on GB where the listing said verbatim… “FNC complete upper receiver only in good shape use for shooter. Some pitting but great for burning rounds, save your investment grade upper.” This was the understatement of the year. I discovered upon receiving the upper that the gun actually went through Hurricane Katrina and was absolutely riddled with pitting! I definitely got into a bad deal and I was mad at myself. In the end, I choked it up to the fact that sometimes I’m gonna lose a deal or in this case, make a deal happen that I should never have taken in the first place. The fact of the matter is that bad deals are gonna happen from time to time so I just had to deal with it. I ended up making the best of what I had and she’s running now thanks to some help from @fuatos, a fresh Cerakote, and one of my new bolts. She runs wonderfully now (still looks like hell though). Unfortunately, I don’t think I could ever sell it for near what I’ve got in it but here I am so I’m gonna try to enjoy what I’ve got.

Thank you navgunner!!
Since this was modeled after a bolt you supplied, the lugs appear to be a hair shorter than in my FNC's (just eyeballed them, I didn't mic them). The warning tag is a VERY good thing and necessary. Now into the stash of spares it goes.

Thanks for the feedback @dash. I’d love to see pictures of what you’re talking about including measurements too if you’re able to.

Correct, I modeled NAVGUNNER production bolts off of my on-hand factory FNC bolts. The engineering package (modeling/drawings/tolerancing) that we created accounted for some adjustments meaning my manufacturing was done at the “top of tolerance” so that individuals could have a bit of room for headspace adjustments. Our logic was that these bolts could be fitted “as is” to most of the FNC rifles that are currently here in the United States. Unfortunately, there’s no one-size-fits-all FNC bolt (even the factory) so every installation will require the assistance of a professional qualified, gunsmith who’s proficient in the FNC.

Is there are special headspace tooling that is required? I'm curious about how the new bolt will fit in my FNCs.

Had a DERP moment the other day. I'm thinking that deep black coloring vs the shiny spots made the factory bolt appear larger.

The measurements of the navgunner bolt vs factory bolt are -

Nav bolt - left lug is 11.85 mm/0.468 in & right lug is 11.85 mm/0.468 in

Factory bolt - left lug is 11.82 mm/0.464 in & right lug is 11.82 mm/0.464 in

I have second FNC, but it's the back of the safe and whole lotta trouble to dig out.

I’d like to sell a few more of my FNC bolts; if there’s any interest, please shoot me a PM.

As most of you already know, this endeavor was expensive so community support was/is the blessing that allows me to make these kinds of parts a reality. Thank you.

To everyone that bought a bolt-consider picking up a second one. I've just bought a second one from Navgunner. I figure this is a once in a lifetime opportunity and with the cost and effort required to make it happen I don't think it'll happen again.

Thank you, @fnfncfan. You’re right, I really doubt there’ll be another production run of these bolts. Like everything else, when they dry up people will be wondering where they all went.

FN Herstal is destroying all of the critical components (including the bolts) of the FNCs as they’ve being taken out of service.

These NAVGUNNER bolts are it as far as spare parts are concerned for the US

I'm comfy that FN got rid of there critical FNC producing tools since long. For sure did the Belgian army the stupid move to drop there FNC parts in the shredder. Now they found out that having a "war stock" would nog be a stupid idea...
