anyone else notice how many are on GB right now? I'm curious if its just a coincidence or if there is something else at play. I don't think I've seen this many for sale at one time in a couple years.

Maybe its just the jobs/economy or some other non-gun related reason.

Likely just thinning out the herd as far as rifles with few spare parts go. More for you and me ?

They seem to come in waves. Still kicking myself for not picking a 2nd one cheap when I bought my first. Ended up buying another one a few years after and paid more, but at least I have a spare now.
I wish prices would drop a little, but even then, prices will still remain high(er) because of demand for spare parts and the possibility that someone will release more of those hoarded sears. If there are many left uninstalled.

FNC's on Gunbroker

I'm thinking a lot of guys have been holding on to these in hopes of picking up a sear. I would say there have been over sixty of these guns sold on Gunbroker in the past year. All averaging around three grand each. I have not seen a single sear for sale in over a year. The last one went for six thousand dollars. If there were any Sears out there being held for investment I would say they missed the boat. My guess is 99 percent of Sears are already in guns. There's no way in hell BATF will ever allow them to be used in Scars.

Three sears sold last summer on GB for $6000 or 6500. All were Buy in now and from Ohio.

you guys without a complete spare are going to be kicking yourself.

bolts are going for over $700.

GB has had some nice rifles in the $3100 to $3500 range lately.

BUY A DAMN SPARE. Its cheap insurance and likely a good investment.

I bought a complete semi without upper for parts about two years ago for 3k that only had about 100 rounds through it. I bought it from a friend who has a CL I FFL. I also have a para select fire FNC and a fixed stock select fire one that is NIB, both by S&H. Looks like I made a good investment--I should be set for life.

yes should buy a spare rifle because it doesn't look like we will get any parts kits in our life time
plus you can still shoot it

i have a "spare " fnc and another w a sear installed...but im not crazy about the whole spare thing. I dont have to keep spare guns around for my other MGs. Seriously , and I dont typically keep $3k of spare parts for each one either. I guess this is the real reason for what i feel is artificially low prices of FNCs compared to other rifle MGs. Specifically ...the fact that FNC MG'ers feel they need a whole freaking spare rifle for operation. Ouch. That sucks...and I'm not crapping on anyone here. I own an FNC + spare as I said. Lets say an FNC mg goes for $9k... and a spare rifle $3k... thats $12k entry. That will <probably ?> get you a RLL that can run in any $700 host without worry of replacements, etc. Argh..... Prior to reading this thread I was thinking FNCs were the best rifle cal MG on the market by far. Now I feel its only marginally the best value. Oh well. Market is the market

it is the best value MG on the market by far, 12k RLL, I don't think so, last one I seen sold was more like 20k you can get the needed spare's now so you should get while available, the bolt is the hard one to get but rarely breaks.

you saw a RLL sell for $20k? Dang ....I need to find a buyer for one of mine if they are going for that. I was thinking $12k'ish . They usually track about 1/2 a RDIAS price historically. They are very thinly traded bc only 750 of them around so I've heard. Rarer than FNC sear for sure.

Nice FNC on GB right now with 1 hour left and currently at $2500.

If it doesnt climb in price drastically, it would be a nice buy.

UPDATE: It sold for CHEAP!

No excuse not to have a spares gun for a mere $2776

http://www.gunbroker.com/Auction/ViewItem.aspx?Item=479978444

being covered in cat hair probably cost him $200 on that sale... if it had been a folder it probably would have done better too.

I was able to pick up a 16" HOWCO for $3k OTD a year or so ago. At the rate I shoot full auto, it will probably take me the rest of my life to break something significant, but for that price and given its a somewhat rarer variant, I figured I wouldn't lose money.

Steel body RDIAS are going for $30k+ of late. $12-15k for a lightening link? No thanks. I'm glad I bought my Colt M16s when I did.
