After many years of wanting & waiting, here she is! NIB, unfired Galil ARM 323 just arrived at my FFL today! Thanks everyone for your pricing input. Made the deal. I'm officially in the Galil club now. :)

Well, Mr. Folgers, I must admit that I did pay "retail" at $3500 but I don't regret it because I'm pretty thrilled with the condition. The previous owner had it stored away for 19 years. I've wanted one ever since seeing Way of the Gun when I was in high school. (The Galil, a Magnum Research piece, was the real star of that film.) It came with 2 25 rounders, one in the box, 4 mags marked '10 rnds' in wrapper, warranty card, box, sling, cleaning kit. No manual (booooo), so I'll have to go buy one.

Standard AK varieties - and pretty much everything else - aren't that awesome when you've had a .308 Galil in hand. Ha!

Safe to assume you started room-clearing your whole house with it?
But really, congrats, and it was one helluva good movie.

Very nice indeed! I know how relieved you feel to finally have it. I wanted one for about 10yrs before I finally got one in the mid nineties it too was unfired when I first got it. I am sure you already know "it was worth the wait". Congratulations! Enjoy your new gun

Congratulations!!!!!! It is a awesome feeling.

Treat her good and shoot straight.

I received my first one, a 329 last July from Dave S.;

But have added a few more .308's since then.

(1) Haddar into ARM conversion by Jeff (Tenngalil)
(2) Haddars
(1) MR ARM that will be here on Thursday from Braindeaf

Plus 2 5.56's (AR / ARM).

Most were LNIB or NIB with many accessories.

Micro and Sniper is next.

Hey adipose - I was checking Braindeaf's out on GB, too. I nearly bid on that MR-AA transitional when I saw it there hovering around the $3025 range. Congrats! The bayo lug & M-16 flashhider looks pretty sweet. Did you ever make an offer on the Galil sniper that keeps re-listing on GB for $5,000?

This one, edman, will be a looker. I'm sure it goes bang like any other rifle I've shot... why spoil the NIB-ness? :-D

By the way, does anyone use any care products on their wood forearms? I have boiled linseed oil but I don't think that would give it the right appearance. I'm not looking to darken the wood, just preserve it.

Thoughts, anyone?

Braindeaf, had an earlier post; especially on how he felt uncomfortable who was buying the gun. He instinst was right.

The guy never returned any calls or e-mail after the auction closed. Total flake!

Since he and I were talking back and forth; he sent me a e-mail last Saturday morning to see if I wanted it, plus felt he could trust me; I couldn't say no!
It arrives tomorrow!

The sniper you see on GB, has been on there for a long time and the seller wants 6,500, even thou the bid starts at 5K with reserve.

I know it is a kit build and it has a Mossberg post-ban receiver on it.

Not worth that price. I going to donate one of my Haddars and has Tenngalil make a sniper; Just got to find some difficult parts.

Again, glad you got one.

Maybe one day; we can have a shoot with all of us Galil nuts.

Adipose, that Galil sniper is a parts gun!? $6,500? Ha! Yeah... that's not going to happen. For the price I just assumed the real deal was on offer and didn't read the print. I'm sure you'll get yours built for less. There's a certain amount of risk when it comes to online bidding, as with Braindeaf's scenario. But I'm glad it worked out for the two of you in the end. I agree with Folgers - post pictures!

Keep in mind, a true sniper can go for over 10K.
If you add up all of the parts that go into a build; it will cost some money; especially if you can find all of the right parts.

I'm not knocking the gun you see on GB, because it could be all true IMI parts in making the build. It is close and it might be the closiest one can get no matter how hard they try.

You are very right, I will post pictures. I was waiting to get MR ARM today; then post a picture of my new family with a story. A story because they was a small group of people involved over a time line all over the country.
In other words, it was fun and I learned a lot.
