Sent a paper Form 4 in mid July, and approval date was September 23. That was fast!

Did you pay the tax with two $100 bills clipped to the form? That is unheard of speed these days.

Here's something I saw regarding this on another NFA-centric forum...

I sent in a 4 pack for 2 MGs and 2 cans in early July. All 4 approved on Sept 21 and I got them a couple weeks later.

I have not heard of anyone bragging they got their trust in 3 months...nfa tracker doesn't show it either.

even though the silencer co thing says trusts its obviously more than 3-4 months for trusts still. looks to me like 11.5 months still

interesting news. hopefully we get details soon

The initial theory is that during some new examiner training they grabbed some applications from the end of the line instead of the beginning. Not sure how accurate that is, but the post by Modern Weapon Systems appears to be a lie (maybe to drum up some quick business?). They claim Silencer Shop said they're going to be sub 120 days, but an hour ago on Reddit Silencer Shop posted this:

I’m jealous, mine usually take 11-12 months. Waiting on 2 more sub guns. If the wait time was much lower I’d own many more items. Mostly suppressors.

FWIW, Looks like there are a few paper F4-trust approvals showing up after 185-200days on NFAtracker, but I'm not getting my hopes up...

I had one check cashed Nov 20th, 2018, approved on Sep 27th 19. When I called to check the status, I had mentioned that some people were getting approvals in three months. the lady I spoke to at the ATF said they were testing a new process, but it was only for items that were not already assigned to examiners. I have 3 SiCO can's that have cashed checks dates from Jul 31st, 19. If those become available in the next month, that should be a good indicator to see if they've maybe changed over to the new system.
