I love my Max-10 as much as anyone but I agree that it should show a stock Mac or two. I don't know who did the pictures but maybe they didn't have access to multiple Macs for the picture.

Its great being historically correct and all, but there's a reason i drive a modern auto, and not a Model T.

The Lage Max-11 pictured is the highest form of the M11. Leave it.

You know the Uzi forum has three different Uzi's on the page.
I understand what you're saying, but...

The only gun specific forum with more than a single photo in it's banner is the H&K forum with it's two photos. The actual Uzi forum has a single full size Uzi depicted.

Uzi Talk was originally Uzi specific when I joined six years ago, and the additional forums were added at a much later date. I'm delighted to have the best MAC related forum in the free world as part of this board. The upgrades Dave made six months ago was an enhancement to the board and to our little corner of Uzi Talk. http://www.uzitalk.com/forums/showthread.php?t=42704

Forum header photos don't change the board, although in this case, each forum photo is a nice touch. The real value of this board is the member's knowledge, reference material, and overall content. I'm happy with whatever photo is used.

I like the Lage picture.

It represents the evolution of the MAC.

Sorry but that's not MAC evolution. It didn't even start out with a MAC. It would be ok to like put up 3 real MAC's then put that with it.

Like I said. I think Richard makes a fine product but it's not a MAC.:nono

Richard has never claimed to make a MAC, and no one else has claimed he does.

Far as the ATF is concerned, the gun pictured is a MAC, with an upper FAR superior to anything MAC ever made.

Its a MAC, with an aftermarket upper.

Those are the facts.

You know I am ok with it being a Lage upper on it but I am pissed that it has aftermarket sight rails, a stock, grip covers and a K-Grip on it! I had to pay a lot of extra money to get them! I think it should be a totally stock Max-11! At least lets have another pictures without those items...

Yeah its a gun forum... who gives a SH!T! Seriously lets get back to something that matters. If you really hate it that much, make a better one yourself and then ask for a vote to get your picture put at the top of the page... otherwise stop crying...

This forum is MAC-10 Talk............you could add another forum called LAGE talk and that should stop the bitchin.....then again that would reduce the traffic here about what....50 percent.....

I don't care weather it's lage modified or not but I think that since it is a Mac thread it should have a Mac pictured at the top not a M-11.

Richard would say, "whatever". I doubt he cares either way but its flattering to see his work on a site like this. I can see some points made that maybe it should be a stock mac as there are other companies that would like to have their components up on this site as well.

It's the "MAC-10 Talk" forum. The M-11/9 is not even a "MAC".

Only owners of Military Armament Corporations' M-10/9 and M-10/45 should be posting here. Is that narrow minded enough?

I guess I'll start posting SWD M-11/9 stuff on the UZI Talk forum, since it is closer in size, shape and caliber to the Micro UZI.

C'mon guys, if the picture irritates you that much, e-mail RoverDave to replace it with something everyone likes. Goodluck finding something that pleases everyone. :)

On the serious side:

The picture posted above was taken by Captain Monty Mendenhall and was used in the Small Arms Review magazine article about the MAX-11. I never asked for it to be posted, but I sure think it looks nice.

A suggestion: It would be more useful if the critics would offer up photos/artwork for RoverDave to consider rather than insulting other peoples guns.

It does look nice Richard, and I think a nice looking picture is what member confede was looking for when he made the banners. I don't have any bias on the topic of what MAC variant deserves to be in the MAC family so there's no hidden message here. Had we known you guys were going to cry like school girls that didn't get invited to the prom, we probably would have been more careful in the selection. I think Richard has a good suggestion on doing something constructive. Maybe someone should round up a bunch of photos and then start a poll. Then I can ask confede if he'll ADD one or two more guns to the banner. We won't make the mistake of limiting it to one again.

Hey Richard, you make uppers for both the M-11/9 and the M-10/45, right? How do you sleep at night with the turmoil that must be bottled up inside you?

I brought this up to start a topic without religion or politics to get a dialog going. It's what you have always preached. Then you come in and smack us down for doing it. I don't get it. And Richard I for one have always in all my posts he said you make a nice product. I've never liked the M-11 as a platform for a weapon.

I for one do not have an issue with the photo. I did not have an issue with the previous photo either.

Again, for me, it is like having a photo of a finely tuned, highly modified 1911 government model, instead of a photo of a box stock 1911, as originally designed by John Browning, at the top of a 1911 forum. Or like arguing that the M-4gery carbine at the top of the M-16/AR-15 forum is neither an AR-15 nor M-16 and should be changed with a photo of Eugene Stoner’s original AR-15.

No complaints here regarding the photo and I agree with RD “…you guys were going to cry like school girls that didn't get invited to the prom…”. I just don’t get it.

On a side note, it was my research of the Max-11 that originally brought me to Uzi Talk. I had been placed on the waiting list and wanted to conduct some research while waiting.:smash
