TFB did a video on a SPC9 lower that takes PPSH drum mags. It takes AR15 FCG with cassette FRTs and are trying to get super safety’s to work with it.

Novox Research is making them and he confirmed that it will work on the APC9 and is going to make a Suomi drum lower too.

I’m excited for this as I have an APC9 and a crap ton of Suomi drums for my Lage uppers.

Dang. This will just make Suomi drums even harder to come by 😂
That was my thought too. I’ve got enough picked up for less than $80 but 5 years from now I think all the ones that are low $100s now will be $3xx

Certainly, you have a right to your opinion, I simply disagree. I don’t see that kind of rise in price unless there is a huge inflationary increase. If there is such an inflationary increase, I think that we would all be so much more concerned about housing and food to worry about drum prices tripling in 5 years.

Only ones in the $80 range anymore are from 59corvette and the odd single sale here and there. Right now the floor is low/mid $100 and are cycled by resellers. I remember 5 years ago $50-$75 was the norm. So they’ve roughly doubled since ‘21. Guess we’ll have to revisit this thread in 5 years to see if I was right.

Pretty cool.
Ya drums will keep going up regardless.
Same AS I have a few flat rate boxes for the 10/31 upper.

I really miss the 20 dollar drums from clearview.
After that they had the 20 U fix 'em drums.
Most of those I bought either needed a tooth rewelded on the ratchet or the feederlift was in the wrong position causing it to only feed 1/2 the drum or less.
All were fixable.
Now the old 20 dollar clearview project drums are 100+ and still need refinished when they pop up on the 2nd hand market.

Seems like like a decent design there.
I'll be looking for the suomi version release.
Wonder if it also takes sticks & coffins.

I've had a lot of fun with Richard's Max31 and VERSA 12 uppers and ran a ton of 70 rd Suomi drums over the years. Either I'm getting older or the drums are getting heavier. :) It may be time for Magpul to remake the Suomi drum in nylon.

I had the Lage max 31, and the drums were a pain to load and made the entire gun over twenty pounds. Ish. 😀

If I was going into combat and my life depended on having lots of ammo... maybe.

But for a range toy ? Pass.

Cool idea, tho..

You guys don't remember the Alliance Armament AMP uppers that took Soumi drums. The upper alone was a tank, add in a 70 round drum and it was a workout to shoot. I'm exaggerating but it was really heavy. Much more so than the Max-31. The Lage Versa is a feather weight in comparison.
