Does anyone know a Gunsmith who can make a Vector Uzi full auto compliant for State of Connecticut if I decide to relocate the gun with a LLC?
I would not want to damage the entire gun, but just to comply. A Connecticut gunsmith I believe would be best. The gun now is standard Class 3, with a tax stamp.
thanks

Hi jrlumpp,

You are in luck if you don't mind a Vector with a selector that is safe,full-auto, full-auto. You only have to change one part in the grip frame. Personally I'd just buy another grip frame, make the mod, and put it on your gun while it lives in CT.

If you want to modify the existing grip frame, only one part has to be changed to make it safe, full-auto, full-auto. Give me a shout if you would like to change the part (and feel up to the challenge) and I'll give you the directions. Modifications to the part can be done with a dremil, hack-saw & vice or bench grinder.

Enjoy,

K2

So to be compliant, you have to get rid of the semi-auto position?

^Yes CT is full auto only, no semi selector.

Perfect state for a MAC since almost everyone removes the trip anyways.

Wow, I can’t imagine what kind of mental gymnastics led to that outcome.
IIRC, they passed a law against "assault weapons" and managed to get the correct definition of selective fire modes in there. Thus full auto only is officially safer to the public than firing it on single shot.

Correct me if I'm wrong but wouldn't just cutting of this portion of the selector eliminate semi auto on a select fire Uzi?

You are kinda on track. They redefined "assault weapons" in regards to semi auto military types, but the way it was written, it affected NFA type firearms with selectors.

He did not do good work on my UZI. I don't like saying it, but that is the 100% truth.
Not to send the thread off track. Did you call John to get the issue resolved? John is a stand up guy and will fix any issue after the fact on his time and costs. I find it hard to believe he would not make good if you reached out after the work was done. He has over 20 Uzis at this time to perform work John is the go to Uzi repair guy.You can't be perfect all the time mistakes happen.

Does this lower have a different trigger like the exploded view pic? Just wondering because a full auto set up is quitte simple. It’s the semi that makes it complicated.

Out of curiosity, I wonder if anyone has actually been charged with having a select fire weapon in CT that was otherwise lawful. My guess is it’s like 922r, it’s the law on the books but rarely, if ever enforced.
