Galil builders 2016

As many people seem to be looking for Galil builders, I thought I'd make a short list of current Galil builders.

1. Hillbilly Firearms – Jeff Miller – Tenngalil - #1 Best by Far
2. Arizona Response Systems
3. Two Rivers Firearms
4. CMP Armory
5. Piece of History Firearms
6. Investment Grade Firearms
7. Azex
8. Elite Firearms XXXDoes not do Galil builds nowXXX
9. Infinity Firearms

Other than the #1 best Galil master-builder, by far, Jeff Miller, these builders are in no particular order regarding the quality of their builds.
The only one I can personally “vouch” for, is Jeff Miller, as fully capable of actually, literally, building Galils better than factory builds, if you start off with new, or near new condition parts, and a CNC-Warrior receiver.

On all the “others”, I can only go by “reputation”, and “what I've heard”.
Some, I think would do a fine job, while some others, I wouldn't touch, but, as far as I know, they all currently do Galil builds.

I would never quote build prices, or build times, as that's best left to the companies to discuss with the customer.

Any feedback from people who've been able to closely “scrutinize”, and physically compare, any of these “custom” builders firearms to “the real deal” IMI factory guns, would be greatly appreciated, I'm sure.

I would add Steve At Windsor Arms Co. In Windsor VT.
Will build using the AWO receiver but if he has to resolve issues or re machine the receiver there will be additional charges

Half of the mentioned builders don't do it anymore; plus some will not do a build with a AWO receiver.

I don't see an issue of posting the standard prices / times for the average builds. It is all part of the informative-decision making process, since it is part of the intent of this website; plus we are the customer.

This post is simply to inform prospective Galil owners, of what companies currently do Galil builds.
I can't speak for the builders, as to their prices, or average build times/current backlog.
I'm sorry, but I do think that would be improper since I don't represent the companies, and wouldn't want to mis-quote something like that.

After you mentioned that, I thought I'd "update" that list, so, I called them, and found out if they currently do Galil builds.

1. Hillbilly Firearms – Jeff Miller – Tenngalil - #1 Best by Far (yes, currently does Galil builds) CNC-W receivers preferred
2. Arizona Response Systems (Yes, currently does Galil builds) dislikes AWO/ORF receivers
3. Two Rivers Firearms (Yes, currently does Galil builds) will use AWO "can be problematic, but do-able" or CNC-W
4. CMP Armory (Yes, currently does Galil builds) will use AWO or CNC-W
5. Piece of History Firearms (Yes, currently does Galil builds) No AWO/ORF receivers
6. Investment Grade Firearms ??? could not reach by phone yet
7. Azex (Yes, currently does Galil builds) No AWO/ORF receivers
8. Elite Firearms ******** (No, does not do Galil builds now)**********
9. Infinity Firearms (Cliff Stearns) (Yes, Cliff Stearns does Galil builds currently, used ORF/AWO receivers primarily, and his builds are marked as "Infinity Firearms", but there's another "Infinity Firearms", that does not do Galil builds)

Some builders may have substantial backlogs, so you'd need to call for more information, of course.
Be careful though, as some "builders" don't seem to know the importance of "the basics", such as lapping bolts, for full 100% contact across both bolt lugs.

As I mentioned before, I don't "endorse" any of these, other than Jeff Miller.
Some, do to their very good reputations, and "what I've heard", make me believe, would do a good job on the builds, but a few I know very little of.

For whatever it may be worth, you could PM me for my personal thoughts on my top 3 guesses/recommendations.

TRA/Two Rivers ARMS are good to go I've seen a few of their galil builds including mine and also a Reweld that made the rounds on the board here a ways back.

Prices are around $450-$700 for a basic build from these builders.
