Galil mag pouches

I'd like to get some mil surplus mag pouches for the Galil. I'm assuming AK pouches would work just fine, is that a true statement? Any specific recommendations?

Most AK magazine pouches will work just fine. If you are looking for pouches to wear on a belt the Israeli's issued canvas pouches that could hold two magazines that are not too hard to find. The South Africans had a pretty good selection of equipment as well, pattern 83 vests and chest rigs are around and not too expensive. There are other more specialized and expensive South African items as well. You could also pick up an Israeli "Ephod" which is sort of a vest meets webbing.

I just came across these. They are calling them Israeli gas mask filter pouches but they look just like the original Galil mag pouches I purchased many years ago that hold a 50rd mag in the back and a 35rd in the front. For 14.95 per 4 pack it would be worth checking out.

Its probably a bit more than what you are looking for, but do a Google image search for the A-10 Ephod harness. I bought one of these many years ago and I've always liked it. Some will say it is out of date now with the newer molle vests available, but I prefer the openness of the Ephod harness. Its a bit like a cross between a tactical vest and a traditional web harness. It is very comfortable and distributes the weight very well. It was designed and used by the Israelis for the Galil rifle in the 70's. I think it is a must have item for any Galil owner. They go together like peas and carrots
