Golani Red Flags?

Hello,
I just ordered a new Golani and won't be able to shoot it for a few weeks - does anybody know of any red flags I should look for to tell if I got a reject or one that should be sent back? Are there any physical things to look for or do you have to actually fire it to know if its a good one?
Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Welcome to the forum!!:welcome
Hard to tell just by looking.Test fire to see if it's good to go.
The usual problem is the headspacing.

If you were to do a search on this forum for:

Century Golani, Century Galil, and ORF receiver, you would find the answers to just about any question you might have..............

Yeah. It's a good idea to use the SEARCH function because there is a certain 'body of knowledge' involved.

I just got the Golani - the serial number is GLN003300 - and it has the "F" stamped on the bottom. I'm unclear with what the "F" represents - does it indicate this weapon has been refurbished and if so, what is the track record with that process - should I be concerned?

The F stands for fixed. The gun has been returned by someone else and repaired (hopefully correctly this time) and sold to you. Keep an eye out for problems. Especially on the locking lugs and headspace. Hopefully they repaired yours right and you will have no trouble. Good luck.

Hopefully it shoots better than the receiver cover fits - I had to tap it in with a rubber mallet to get that thing back on. I've never seen a tighter one - It looked like it was at least 1/16" outside the groove.

They need to fit tight so the sights repeat when you reassemble the weapon.
If you'll file very small amounts at a time off the front edge of the cover it will be easier to reassemble. Just don't take too much off or it'll be loose.

That's common, even on IMI guns.

Not like I have seen on Golanis. I have yet to find one that didn't need some help from a hammer. I have never had that problem with an IMI.

Be sure if you're making adjustments to the fit of the receiver cover, it's done with the recoil spring and guide out of the gun! That's a must.

Other than the incredibly tight receiver cover, a horribly refinished spare magazine (already set up an exchange for that), and the fact that it looks like its never received a drop of oil anywhere on it, the Golani seems pretty solidly made. Very reminiscent of my FNC, which I love. I called Century and they claimed that the "F" stands for "Fine". Hopefully they "Fixed" it right.

I can think of another word that" F" could stand for..................

I have one just like yours. "F" marked 3XXX serial number range. Test fired it yesterday with 200 rds Russian steel cased ammo. No FTF at all. No problems of any kind. Oh yea the plastic mags are harder to load then steel mags. But both fit and worked perfectly. I am very pleased.
