IMO, Wolf, Tiger, Tula are all on the same range of quality. It is what it is, cheap steel cased ammo that goes bang every time and shoots Minute of Man.

Never had a problem with any brand of Russian ammo and I've shot a shitload of it.

Golden Tiger is THE best ammo for AKs IMO, and I've shot them all practically.

Its all the same and they even multiple brand name the ammo either way its basically all the same. To the guy above the best 7,62 X 39mm is a tie between Serbian/Yugo;Winchester;Finn Manufactured...these are all full brass cased and very accurate Lean Core FMJ.

Here's great page re 7.62x39 ballistics. There's no "Golden Tiger" listing in the chart, but this site is useful for a great many munitions.

According to this chart the Russian ammo is NOT all the same, contrary to popular belief. I shoot whatever's cheap at the range, but for my SHTF ammo, I stock up on Brown Bear exclusively when it comes to 7.62x39.
Also, the different Russian steel-cased ammo come with different qualities of case coating. The "Silver Bear" corrodes more quickly for this reason, making it poor for long-term storage. Here, too, the Brown Bear is said to be one of the best with it's durable lacquer finish.

If anyone knows of a more complete web-based ballistics chart than the one I posted; i.e., ballistics101.com, I'd love to know about it.

It is just about the best 7.62x39 ammo out there, finding it is about the only problem I have had from it.
I shoot it in both the 7.62x39 & 5.45x39 calibers.

The only "bad" 7.62x39 ammo I have ever experienced, was the Iraqi 7.62x39 that was for sale several years ago.

Round on the left. I bought several hundred rounds of the stuff at a gunshow. I found out why it was cheap. These rounds were so bad, they made Wolf ammo look like hand loaded Match ammo. Not only was it dirty, and had a very strange smell, and the powder charge from round to round was different. One round would fire like a +P+, the next would barely get the round out of the barrel. I pulled several bullets from cases that had hard primers, and discovered there was no powder!!
