well, just for $hits and giggles went on YOUTUBE and found a video of a old codger loading a D60 rather quickly

some of us old codgers, which I count myself one of those :), can make, modify or find an easier way to do things :D

That’s not bad, using the clip loader to feed the rounds in. Pre-loading ammo on stripper clips would speed up his mag loading process even more (as long as you forget about how long it took you to load the ammo on strippers).

Regarding the stripper type loader wearing out plastic feed lips, I think that’s less of an issue here. The stripper loader serves more as a guide, but the lever is still being used to take the tension off the spring, so it shouldn’t tear up the feed lips in the same manner.

On the Beta Mags, I tried the supplied stripper loader. I find the LULA to be a better option anyway, so that’s what I use there.

How do y'all compare to surefire 60?

What are y'alls favorite > 30 round ammunition feeding devices?

Magpump makes it easy.

Went ahead and purchased a KCI 100 drum or $109 from Gunmagwearhouse.com. We'll see what's what.

I made it to the range with the D60. Only had 50 rounds in it as I gave up flipping the flipping lever. It emptied without a hitch. 4 long smooth bursts. Others at the range thought it was cool until I showed them how it loaded. On top of that most thought they would have little value in a semi gun, just for full auto fun. These two will sit on the shelf until there is another gun law scare and I can sell them for triple what I paid, just like the beta mags I had.

Well seeing problems loading a D60 in the Mac section puts a smile on my face this morning. That’s a good problem to have. It’s great to be a Mac owner right now. Thank you mr Lage.

After I loaded the 5th round and literally considered unloading it and returning it. I don’t think I will ever load it again.

Pmag 40s seem work well. Not much more capacity, but they will load with many options of more than one at a time.

FedEx has lost the 2 D-60s I ordered from Brownells but I can't file a claim until Nov 7. I ordered 2 from PSA and they came today. I'll probably ask for a refund from Brownells.

I read through the instructions and found the instructions on the D-60s to be accurate. Loading was a learning curve on the first drum. The 2x pushing the lever after rounds 50 was interesting. The second drum was predictable. The D-60 drums are not too bad to load but they are harder than any other drum I've used. If they are 100% reliable to store loaded then they will be OK in my opinion.

Tomorrow I test the 2- D60s, 2- KC1 100 drums, and an Armatac 150 Drum. I have a bunch of 30 rd box mags to play with too. Wish me luck.

Just got back from the range. Here are the results.

I shot 2- D60 drums 2X each - 240 rounds ran flawlessly.
The 150 rd Armatac 1X drum was flawless. A Sheriff wanted to take video :)
#1 KCI 100 rd drum was flawless.
#2 KCI 100 rd drum failed to feed rounds up the mag body 10+ times. It eventually stopped with about 64 rounds in it. I will need to disassemble it to fix the left column of dummy rounds that fell out.
4- 30 rd box mags ran flawlessly.

The KCI drums were also very easy to load with the Magpump. I just unpinned the handle on the Magpump, rotated it 180 degrees and pinned it back. Then inserted the drum and pulled up on the handle for each round. Easy peesy.

I really like the D60 mags. They are not that hard to load, although more difficult than any other drum I've loaded. 2- D60 drums fit in a .30 cal ammo can for storage. I may keep the 2 from Brownells if they ever make it out of the BRASELTON, GA FedEx location.

I would pay $80 for additional D60 mags if anyone does not want theirs.
