Keepshooting.com used to carry a really great 4 cell mag pouch for the 30 round .45 grease gun mags. They sold it for $4.95 and like an idiot I only purchased 1 the first time around thinking that I would pick up more later. They have been out of stock for over 6 months with no known date for more to arrive.

Does anyone know of a good supplier of mag pouches that will fit the 10" grease mags? I've done extensive google searches with no luck. Uzi pouches aren't big enough and I really am interested in a mag pouch that separates the individual mags with cell dividers. The nice thing about the one from Keepshooting.com was the water resistant canvas and compact size. Some sellers on GunBrokers.com are selling old army surplus M3 pouches for around $50 that look worn, have drain holes and are around 50 years old.

grease gun pouches

We carry some smg pouches. I received a call from a guy last week asking if they would fit in our pouches and they do. If you check our site, i shot a photo with a steel 9mm mag, a sten and a grease gun mag in them. They are shown with and without the velcro strap holding them. They fit fairly snug without the velcro and it is adjustable or can be removed. They are canvas type and fit any attachment system or can be worn on a belt. I have used them smg matches for the M-11 9mm and they work well. If you have any question, give me a call. Thanks

Grease Gun mag pouches

Surefire, took a look at your pics on your website. I guess I got spoiled because the ones from Keepshooting.com were a perfect fit. Didn't really want to have to squeeze the mags in or leave the velcro top loose to get them to fit for easy withdrawal or put back, but thanks for the suggestion.

Nayo, did a quick google search for "blackhawk drop leg hk ump mag pouch's". Didn't see anything that stood out for this product. Do you happen to have a link? Do your .45 acp 30rd grease mags fit in and take out easy with this pouch?

Thanks to both of you for your help.

Try IMA-USA, they have 3 cell Thompson mag pouches for $25. I've used these and they fit pretty well

Couple of ways you can go on this, depending on how many mags you want to carry/store and how much you want to spend.

Buying expensive web gear (Eagle, Blackhawk, et al) just isn't my kharma.
Remember: "Perfect is the assassin of good enough."

An AK47 30-round magazine pouch will fit two GG mags per cell. In fact, I find the 30-rd AK mag pouches are about the most ubiquitous mag pouches. They can carry 1-2 of any stick mag around, rifle or smg. They are dirt cheap and come in a nice variety from ratty canvas Bulgarian pouches to excellent E. German rain camo pouches to very good chinese chest pouches.

But my real favorite smg stick mag pouch is the PPSH41 pouch that MG34.COM is currently selling for $7 (on sale from $15). Ask them for a pic - this one is a real sleeper. They are a very nicely made canvas 3-cell pouch with leather bottoms. They fit 30-rd stick msgs for GG, TSMG, PPSH-41, PPS-43, Sten or Sterling very nicely. I bought a bunch of them. At that price I use them to store spare magazes (after wrapping the mags in plastic of course).

A side point about storing magazines - NEVER, EVER store mags bare in the pouch. The pouch will absorb the oil from the mag body and then the mag will rust. Don't ask me how I know. Thing to do here is simple. Ask your local newspaper carrier where he gets his rainy day bags. They're extremely cheap and just the right diameter and length to cover your mags. Oil your mags, bag'em and store in the pouch. They'll keep 'till you need 'em.

Spend your extra pouch money on ammo, pilgrim. You'll need it come Judgment Day - there's a LOT of journalists out there.

Mr Natural - Thanks for the info I'll check out MG34.com. The price sure seems about right. It's not that I won't pay good money for quality gear it's just I'd rather save a little where I can to put towards the ammo fund. With the 30rd mags it's easy to go through a lot of ammo in a short amount of time.

I had always heard not to store guns or mags in either leather or plastic. Something about the leather retaining moisture and the plastic not releasing moisture. Canvas though I thought was breathable and less likely to cause rust.

I have also run across a great product called Sail-Kote. It's used for boating applications but was also tested by the military for easier ammo feeds (this info comes from the company). I use it to seal out moisture, and it seems to be finger print resistant. Using it on my mags, ammo and MPA-10 I have very few jams or stovepipes. It leaves a dry, non-oily coating on the bare metal that doesn't rub off (it's salt resistant for sea sailing).
