I wish I could check in more but time is not my friend. :(

I'll respond to everyone and send a confirmation email in a couple days after I get a good idea on the number. I can tell you already though we have enough interest that it's worthwhile moving forward.

citation3, the Lage Max-11Sk will look pretty much just like your Max-11 MK2K. The bolt weight void is solid and it has non-reciprocating charging handle with a spring return. If you are happy with that I would just wait, Richard works at his own pace, but he is a finisher. I have the same upper, the first I guess, and it's nice. The sights are no big deal to omit on the Grey Ghost and are fairly inexpensive so it wouldn't knock much off. The ACE grip is proprietary to the Grey Ghost bracket. It's the only grip I ever found that fit well with the setup besides one I made, and I only ever made one of that grip. The ACE grip doesn't extend past the front of the gun and has plenty of room to work the safety. Negpos bought the single prototype with his Grey Ghost.

This upper is about compactness, simplicity, functionality and overall just plain works well. Truly, ask the people in the forum here that have multiple M11/9 uppers on their gun and the ones with the Grey Ghost will tell you that's the one that resides on their lower all the time. Very low OEM sight profile. Minimum length. It fits in a very small range bag you can buy at Walmart for 15 bucks that will hold the gun, 6 mags, a suppressor, tools and spare parts. With the CF-W Gen2 bolt it will have the most controllable ROF you can get. I would recommend a replacement stock not the crappy OEM stock. Lage Manufacturing sells a couple that work well with the sight height, the "OEM" Folding Stock and the collapsible buttstock. I haven't tried them so I can't tell you what the cheek weld is like. Sam's P.S. folding UZI type stock similar to the one in the picture is excellent with this upper. Just make sure you tell him it's for this upper, he has to weld the butstock on the other side of the shaft to clear the front grip when it's folded.

I'd buy one if I could get it chopped for the .380

Gaujo, I am doing a prototype M11A1 Grey Ghost upper in the next couple weeks. I was waiting on a friends M11A1 to transfer and it just got approved. That will be a separate thread. I'll post some pictures after the build and post when I am ready to gage interest.

I must be the only M11 owner that likes the OEM folding wire stock, keeps the whole package neat and compact.
Before the comments start, I check it regularly and it still locks up solid, works for me but then no one ever accused me of being normal.

To speak to this I have owned and extensively fired every lage upper (except the 22 kits) for the m11/9. They all work well and feel like a different gun, much like different flavors of ice cream. After getting my grey ghost and cf-w I knew immediately I had the most compact and *controllable* SMG in the world. I work at a US joint command and I let the sneaky sneaks use my set up and they love it. I have since gotten rid of all my lage uppers because I can fit all range goodies and gun into a lunchbox sized bag and it's by far the best set up for this platform. It's amazing. Mike is an extremely busy guy, he might only ever do one run of these. He may do more, I can't speak for him, but if he doesn't do more you will wish you had gotten in on the first list.

Please tell me it's true you are really back? :hyper

I would be in for a Grey Ghost! Would it be possible to have a gas kicker added to my Black Widow?

No David you can't weld the gas kicker in the Black Widow. You could have it done, but the Grey Ghost is parkerized while the the Black Widow is parkerized and then has a baked on finish over that. That's why it's black. You would have to get someone to redo that finish, sorry I don't do that anymore.

I'm definitely in for one. This will make me finally pick up a CF-W bolt.

Polite request to clarify exactly what is included. Here is my best guess:
Upper with low profile gas block installed, Vertical front grip (as show) with bracket attached to upper by two threaded allen bolts, this VFG bracket (will/will not) support Pic rail grips, full length low profile picatinny rail with XYZ brand (CZ Scorpion?) steel sights installed. Barrel details (3 lug barrel with 1/2x28 threading). Upper, gas block and barrel all finished in XYZ finish.

Mike, thanks for returning and all you have done for our community.

Yes, the upper will have the low profile gas kicker. Yes to the CF-FG bracket and ACE vertical foregrip. Yes full length picatinny rail and CZ sights. The CZ sights are 7070 aluminum I think. The barrel was 1/2X28 on the ones I built out in the past and I put a birdcage flash hider on them. The entire Grey Ghost was originally parkerized and matched the finish to the lower. No you can't attach accessory rails to the CF grip bracket.

This was the Black Widow for those that don't remember. It was almost identical to the Grey Ghost but never had a gas kicker and had a front accessory rail. All that steel made for a very heavy upper. The upper had a black baked on Cerakote type finish over the parkerizing. That was necessary because when you do a lot of welding like with the side rail you get spots around the weld that are harder and don't parkerize evenly. The finish color gave it it's name Black Widow.

I have to be honest. The response, the demand is way more then I thought it would be. I was thinking 5 or 6. This is going to take some planning. I don't want to run into the issuie I did with the Gen 1 bolts where I bought up all the available M11/9 bolts or like Vegas ran into buying up all the available firing pins and extractors with the Gen 2 bolts. I'll have to send out some emails. Not a bad thing but more work then I thought.

email sent.

On a personal note, Mike, I hope you have time to contribute to the forum going forward. I always enjoyed reading your posts. We miss you. I know you are still busy tweaking the 380 bolt and now this project, but hopefully you will have time to post now and then.
