I don't know if you all remember my #12 build. It was always my favorite. I built it with s lot shorter slot and pull length. Here is a picture, the plate setting on it below is the normal side cocking plate.

I also like the charging handle in the picture. I'm thinking about incorporating those in the production upper.

I really like the shorter throw, but I'm not big on the handle. Looks like it would be most uncomfortable slung across my back and impossible to take out of my backpack without catching everything on the way out.
Someday I'll sit down and figure out a folding handle similar to a FAL or HK for mine.

Is there any way to incorporate a side rail without welding?

I prefer the shorter slot and the round charging handle. The round one looks more comfortable even though the second design looks better aesthetically. I think an earlier answer might lead to some confusion so I'm just going to ask in another way. The VFG is simply mounted to a standard spec picatinny rail, correct? So one could change this out if they wish. Also, I'm wondering about the possibility of ordering without a barrel since I had already purchased two 3-lug barrels in preparation for a build. Either way I'm in, thanks.

The ACE grip has a very small footprint, It's a very small piece of rail. If you could find another grip with that footprint I guess you could swap it out. I've never found another one with that small a footprint. You have to have room for your finger to operate the safety.

Most of the cost estimate is in the custom building out and finishing of the upper. I didn't mark up the off the shelf parts like the barrel but if you didn't want one I will consider knocking off my cost on the barrel and flash hider. It's not much 40 bucks total I think.

As far as the cocking knob goes if you want the old style I guess that can be an option.

If you are talking accessory rail, yes, with screws through the inside. That's how most of the top rails are attached. The rail is right across from the cocking slot so if you are capable it's doable.

I know everyone will be extremely pleased with their uppers. I've told Mike that people honestly don't know what they're missing until they actually shoot a couple of mags through a bolt and upper combo, and it's true. Once you shoot this badass little side cocker with the tungsten allow CF-W bolt installed, it'll become your favorite go to subgun combo.

Shameless plug... I've got CF-W bolts in stock ready to ship the same or next day of your order.

no love for the mac 10/45??

are there just so few out there that were always last?

If I had an M10 I would develop stuff for it quicker. Working on the 380 has proven hard not owning one. Shipping back and forth for testing alone has been a lot of money. If you buy me one I will move it up on my to do list? :)

I emailed you at the email on the first page (mike.coffeefreak@gmail.com) on March 6 at 10:34 PM. I have not received a confirmation.

Scott

Hi Scott, I am going to respond to everyone this weekend when I have a chance to sit down at my desk and go over everything. I'm hoping to have a better idea of turnaround time and other details by then. I'm not sure if they will be produced all at once or in batches, I should know that this weekend. I think we are @36 now at last count. It could hit 50 or more. Thanks ________Mike
