Toying with the idea of picking up a pro and installing my registered Micro bolt. Anyone done it yet? If so, how involved are the lower mods?
PM if not comfortable with an open post.
TIA!!

I'm going to at some point, but haven't yet.

The bolts look the same, except the pro bolt has a hole drilled in the left side for the charging handle. If you want side cocking, you're going to have to drill a hole in your registered bolt. It looks to me the bolt could then be removed from the Pro and dropped back in a Micro with no side effects.

You could always run a micro top cover on the Pro, and top charge it, if you didn't want to drill your bolt.

Eodinert,
Thanks for the reply.
I understand the upper receiver requirements, its mainly the grip mods I'd like to know about before purchasing one.
Id guess the "real deal" grip is a no go. :)
Best,

OK. Why would one want a Micro grip on a Pro?

That's interesting. I received the stamp yesterday to SBR mine. I already have the stock and figured that I was going to attach some sort of vertical foregrip so that I could hold it. That would be perfect, but for some reason I don't see IWI-US offering it.

Yeah, it would be something you would probably need to get from an sot off of a destroyed/cut up postie pro.

Bret,
How long was the wait on your F1 stamp?
If you don't have "the book", you should get one!

I efiled. The stamp took 45 days. I have a few paper filed Form 4's that I'm approaching a year on.

I feel like I probably should know, but what's the name of the book?
