Ok took my Mod B semi out today for its first test run, I loaded it with a 32 rd mag stamped imi 9mm. Right of the bat it shot two in succession then "click" I cocked it back and a live round came out. I inspected the round and there was a small dent on the center but it hadnt fired, I tried again with the same results. I went about this through the whole mag, I could not get a full feed. I tried using the 25rd mag and it did the same thing. I tried once more with a noticibly used 32rd mag and it did a little better maybe seven rounds before it clicked and no fire. I am brand new to UZI's never even fired one before. Before I even shot It I opened it up and learned about it (ie bolt etc) Whats going on with this thing? It looks to be unfired,( some kid got it from daddy for a present, daddy owns a shop in CO) its so clean its insane, anyway is there somthing I should be tweaking? Maybe a bad firing pin? I sure want to get this thing running, I hate to have an UZI that shoots way worse than my M11 lol. Thanks all Russ.

" its so clean its insane",

Well,, first question comes to mind is it oiled? Try removing the bolt and striker assembly, put a drop or 2 of oil down the fire pin hole from rear of the bolt. Put oil on the flat surface that the strikers' leg slides on the bottom of the bolt.

Then apply a couple drops of oil to the inside of the receiver from front to rear, all the way down both left and right sides where the bottom of the striker and bolt ride the floor of the receiver.

Re-assemble, try again. These things dry will drag, I very rarely clean mine, when it gets dirty, it soaks up the oil, so I just dribble some more and off we go. I use LSA in mine.

If the problem isn't hard primers, try checking the firing pin/striker for damage/binding. Check the spring tension on the striker. Make sure that the bolt is FULLY closing to battery. I would suggest soaking the gun in EEZOX & wiping it dry... leaving a protective film. A little dab of white lithium grease on the bolt helps.

Make sure the gun is empty and safe, then, pull the top cover and check visually for anything obvious. While holding down on the bolt so it engages the sear, cock the bolt back with your hand. Pull the trigger while watching for any binding. Also look at the inside of the top cover and receiver area for any signs of uneven binding by the striker assembly. Just for the sake of being sure, hose it down in a light oil and try again. If the oil does the trick, you will just need to clean and lightly oil it until it wears in a little. My reg'd. conversion bolt wouldn't even fit inside my gun when I first got it. I needed to put it on a belt sander to shave it down some. Take a look between the bolt and barrel on an empty chamber with the top cover off. The gap should be minimal. My Model A's feedramp caused the bolt to be held back a little more than it should have when the gun was new. Now all is well. Karl.

Another thing you can try is polish the contact area between the bolt and the striker at the lower rail and lube it. The bolt slides over the top of the striker and may be hanging up. Mine would drag due to rough spots on the bolt where the striker slides under it and had exactly the same problem. I polished the bolt and the striker and it worked fine.

Is the barrel fully inserted/seated? Is your barrel retaining nut ratcheted down snuggly?
