Just bought my very first Uzi today. It is a full size IMI mod. B. Came with the full size barrel and the short barrel not a dummy barrel. I know I know I cant put it on. I got five 32 rd mags with it and an assault case. The gun is mint, doesnt even look like it was ever fired. I got this as a two gun package deal the other gun was a mint NIB Armalite 180. with a bunch of clips. What kind of accessories can I get for the UZI? Are there threaded barrels I can get maybe to put a can on it? Sorry so ignorant all but today was the first time I ever even handled an UZI other than the lame "post ban" norincos. Can I get the .22/.45 conversions for this gun? Lemme know thanks all, Russ.

Russ, welcome to the club. There's nothing more fun than seeing a guy post message #1 saying "I just bought an Uzi." We love hearing that.

Sounds like you got a nice setup. One issue you need to be concerned about is the 10" barrel. If it's an original SMG barrel then it won't fit in the gun and you're fine. If it's a semi barrel or a modified SMG barrel that fits in the gun, then you need to get rid of the barrel or license your Uzi as a short barreled rifle. It's not just illegal to put the barrel in the gun - it's illegal to possess the barrel and the gun it will fit in if the gun isn't a machine gun or an SBR. It's not that uncommon for guns to be sold with such a barrel because a lot of people don't know the rules. Just take care of the barrel issue and then start enjoying your gun.

Start checking out some of the threads on the message board for info on accessories and caliber conversions. There's lots of info posted. And don't be afraid to ask questions.

Take that "B" and SBR it, and buy a good can, you have a ton of fun. I SBR'd mine in '88, got the suppressor in '98 after living back in OH for 6yr. I'm a little slow sometimes, but the goob who hit my car, his insurance paid for my suppressor and transfer. Toyota's parts are a little pricey---he-he-he-he..
