I was sent an H&K G3 / H&K 91 .22 LR magazine for testing and review. Functionally, the magazine performed flawlessly during live-fire testing and feeding was consistent and reliable throughout, with no malfunctions or failures. The magazine has an approximate capacity of 33 rounds and maintains proper fit and lockup in the rifle. Furthermore, the magazine is fairly lightweight; at this time, I have just over 500 rounds through the magazine and it still looks great and performs like new.

The test unit featured a two-tone color scheme, but production models will be a single uniform color.
Overall, this magazine offers reliable performance, nice lock up and is constructed well, making it a suitable choice for anyone running a .22 LR conversion in an H&K pattern rifle.

Very cool! I look forward to hearing more about these.

I assume it’s a 3D printed mag? Are the feed lips metal?

Hi All,

The magazines are printed, modular and are all plastic. There may be steel feed lips in the future but not planned right now. The feed lips are similar to other plastic feed lips I've used and have gotten 5000-7000 rounds before they were unreliable. (It took 18 months to do that testing.) The 91/G3 22 magazines can have their feed lips replaced by removing 4 screws. The feed lips, being a small part, are very affordable.

MG34_Dan: I hear you. Maybe someday. It would be nice to have higher capacity magazines for the MP5 22 conversion.

Enjoy,

K2

Hi All,

Here is a typical magazine (33 rounds) vs the HK version (20 rounds). I started with plastic 20 round magazines as the objective was a lighter mag belt in competition. Everyone wanted bigger and now they are 33 rounds. While the 33 round magazines fit in the typical Bundeswehr 2 magazine pouch (top flap open), the Bundeswehr MP2 Flecktarn pouch (no dividers, flap open) has a bit more depth (but only 1 mag fits in the pouch).

Enjoy,

K2

what would really be cool is for someone to manufacture a clone of the bazooka brothers hk91 adapter to attach and feed an E&L--165-225--0r--275rd 22 drum. there used to be vids on here--i think harrissr maybe--thats where I learned of them and was able to buy the adapter before they ceased manufacture (believe he passed away)

Hi All,

Thanks to those on the forum that have been helping out. To date the "functions great" score on HK manufactured firearms (F/A & S/A) is 100% great (3 for 3). The testing on a non-HK 91 gun indicates additional work is needed as the magazine doesn't fit the mag-well (w/o sanding), doesn't lock-up, and doesn't feed.

I'm contacting my local friends to get non-HK test guns to continue development.

Enjoy,

K2
