Good day,
Can anyone steer me to the clones, Zenith, MKE, Vector, Cohare, etc that are compatible with a registered sear pack. Will a HK SP5 work? Are there some that just won't work or have some blocking bars or shelves, etc

Other than HK94 what are the best to worst and are they compatible with the sear pack (Or can made to be so)

I'd like to get one and have it turned into a MP5 SD, but be able to use a sear pack.
Thanks for the help,
bwnva

Most of the clones and an SP5 will work. If using a 2 push pin gun (SP5 or MKE), you'll either need to convert to the typical HK semiauto shelf and remove the block OR use a carrier with a removable sear trip. I've had great luck with century, PTR, and Coharie/SW hosts over the years in 9mm, 5.56, and .308 (with the appropriate FA carrier).

A much more complicated subject than you would ever think.
As Colt Collector said start researching on HK Pro.
Have been considering a 9mm host for my sear for over 2 years .
I just bought a HK 94 but I imagine a PTR to run hard is in my future .
PS I have 5 PTR clones in 223,308, and 7.62x39 and they all run great.

I use both a SP5 and a MKE gun for 9mm with my sear. SP5 needs a different plastic lower than the others do at least for SEF. HK parts sells them. I also went with the removable sear trip mod from Armament USA they did a great job and work was completed quickly. I would go for a SP5 if I were you, can't beat the original manufacture

Thanks all for the comments, keep them coming.
I am leaning toward the

MKE/Century AP5 LT/T94 Pistol (but they are out of stock)

I bought my used AP5K off of sturm last year for 1k. You could also try a PTR, they are advertised as sear ready. I have never run one of their 9mms but my HK91 clone has been flawless, and I bought it used at a pawn shop for $700.

I bought two of these. Great price! I paid that much for the Coharie stripped receivers years ago. I’m planning on using a removable sear trip, too.

Zenith and MKE MP5 clones are generally compatible with sear packs.
Vector and Coharie MP5 clones may require some modification for compatibility.
The HK SP5 can be made to work with a sear pack, but it might need modifications or different trigger groups.
Other than the HK94, many MP5 clones can be compatible with sear packs, but may require varying degrees of modification.

For an MP5 SD project, Zenith or MKE clones could be good options as they tend to be more compatible with sear packs.

For a data point, my coharie receivers have worked well without modifications (7 or eight).

I have a post sample kit in a PTR. I have been very happy with it and no modifications were made to the host. PTR being US made is a plus for support/warranty and any 922r concerns.

Thanks. I have a PTR 91 and like it. I'll have to check into the 9mm PTR. I don't care about a 3 lug barrel as I want to send it off for a SD conversion.

I had a PTR and it was plug and play with the sear pack. Very happy with the quality and function.

Thanks for everyones help, I ended up ordering a PTR 9CT-CL Classic Pistol - PTR 604. Advertised as sear ready with FA Bolt carrier. If I could have bought the AP5 when it was in stock I probably would have as it had just a plain barrel. Tve PTR has a 3-lug,hopefully it can be easily removed so I can use on something else as it serves no function in a SD build. There was a good article on the MKEs etc in a major gun magazine. I'll find it and tell all the issue.
