Not sure if you need more than 10 drums. 720 rounds ought to get you through a day at the range. Having said that, yes I was the first to reply with over 20 drums. The guy I bought my STG from had a bunch of drums he gave me a deal on and then I picked up some more from Bugsy on this site. I thought they were a good deal and it looks like they are starting to become harder to find so I stocked up. Realistically I never take more than 2 or 3 loaded drums to the range. When they are empty I switch to another gun or go back to work depending on my schedule.

I have over 60. I've got 4 big boxes that are closed with 12 each, and we'll over a dozen loose ones that I use to shoot. It was about 5 or 6 loose, but somewhere I picked up some more. I need to cut my loose ones down to about 5 of my worst shape ones. These things used to be cheap. I have 3 guns that take the drums. Coffins didn't used to be 100$ either. I am not a man of big means, and I scraped and saved for the three guns I have that take them. I'll be damned if my children inherit machineguns with just a few magazines that by then will be pushing a century. I was in high school when the AWB of 94 hit (shows my age) and I saw what that shit did to 10/22, AR and Mini14 magazines. I'll be damned if one catches me again. These are the good ole days. If I see some for a good deal, and that pops up every now and then- like 3 for 75 shipped- how can you afford not to buy? Just my 2 cents

I've got 10 as well but wonder if I'll need more due to normal wear over the next 5-10 years of use. Bugsy's are real nice and fairly priced. Probably not bad insurance.

I have 12 or 13. Bought 10 form Vegas when his deal was going on and have a couple that I picked up in a parts deal.

I got 5 pretty nice ones that fit perfectly together in a snap top .45 ammo box. Haven't needed any more- that's plenty for range time (have a good set of zmags & a set of converted sten mags also) and I don't compete with that upper bc no thumb mag release.

I have a bunch! We did a group buy a while back and after handling them I fell in love with the craftsmanship that went into making these. I was just talking with Tom/Vegas about them today. These probably are the good old days indeed. I have 4 that I shoot and the rest are stored. I always intend to sell them but I have a hard time letting them go for some reason! There is just something about their history, weight, and craftsmanship that to me evokes the feel of a '28 Thompson.

They are impressive little mechanical feeders. I'd like to have another semi gun that feeds from them.

They briefly made a Suomi 31 semi auto but I gathered it was too much work and they quit

I bought 3 from Centerfire when they had their $20 deal going on. In my haste to tinker (and make them into tower-feeders), I grinded the feed lips off those 3. Moving forward a few months: Lage announced the Max 10/31 and I joined the wait list. I bought 6 more from Bugzy. No point trying to monkey with a tower fed project, so now I have 6 functional ones, and 3 that I'm going to try repairing. Every so often I get in the same mindset of everyone else: "these ARE the good old days"/"buy cheap stack deep"/etc. Realistically I don't see myself needing more than just a couple of them anyway, especially with the 6 ZMAG-S, and 10 pack of Sten Magazines I just bought.
