Check out my patent pending .380 weight loss program!
Before:

After!

hehe

Everybody was saying their .380 lengths were about 6.8", I went long on the cut because I noticed the Lage Max-11a1 mk2 was longer than that on the lower part. Cut the rear large picatinny section off as well up to the next set of ears. Hoping I don't have to alter the cocking knob guide. When I get back home this weekend I'll get to test fit. Strobro send me an address to send this new sighted paperweight to!

UPDATE: 9/30/2016
6.8" is the right length for cutting. My cut was too long the first time and I'm going to have to grind it down to 6.8". You also have to grind or cut the lower edge of the cocking guide.

Looks great. I bet ejection will be flawless now with that larger ejection port.

Thank you for the offer of the rear sight but like you, I prefer an optic... or the older back plate peep.

The dimensions are wrong and that's a 9mm barrel. Even if you bought it with no barrel, the distance from the trunnion to the chamber is exactly the same for the 11 and the 11/9, but this puppy has less distance from the chamber (back end of the barrel) to the trunnion.

That being said, i guess it could be possible that the thing could work if you bought it with no barrel, the oal was at least 6.8", the cocking knob would engage the bolt in the M11, and you'd certainly have to cut your own ejection port, and check that all of those weird lower channels are kosher. Sounds unlikely given all those maybes, but if you want to buy one and try one, it would be interesting to know.

So for future reference, don't final assemble this thing until you're sure it's right. When I realized the OAL was too long, I'd already loctighted all the screws in, and had to bench grind down the extra 1/8". It was a too thin for another cut at that point. I ended up with metal filings all over the thing. I don't think I'll ever get all of the filings out of that cocking slot, but I got it pretty good with water, q-tips, and a tooth brush followed by a dry out in the oven and a lube. Measure twice, cut once!

Just to clarify, Lok Tite Blue 242 is intended to be broken with hand tools. The spec sheet actually says:

For disassembly, shear with standard hand tools and remove with methylene chloride. In rare instances where hand tools do not work because
of excessive engagement length, apply localized heat to nut or bolt to approximately 482°F (250°C). Disassemble while hot.

I've never needed to use heat on Blue 242.

Hit the head of the screw with a small torch or heat it up with a GOOD soldering iron?

Loving the Lage bull nose thread protector. It has an o-ring for a nice snug fit, and it's machined very nicely. The o-ring does not make contact with the shorty ILWT barrel, but the threading on both parts is so precise that it has a clear stopping point.

Now I just need a magwell length magazine and a CF-W bolt! It looks like on the zytel there is a second set of floorplate grooves about 2/3 down the magazine. Has anyone ever cut off the zytel mag at that stop to see if that's what it's for?

That is indeed what the line on the Zytel magazine is for... to relocate the base plate.

Do you take coils off the spring or what?

I cut a few off of the one I made but it's been a while. If you like I can try to locate it and count the ones left. Mine holds 14 rounds.

Now if there was an easy way to mod a shockwave 30 rounder.......

Murrica, where else.
It's so strange looking, not in a bad way, but in a way that my brain just can't come to terms with the dimensions. I hope you plan on posting a video of it, maybe then my medulla will come to terms haha. Maybe strange is the wrong word, it looks foreign. Just want to make it clear I'm not slamming it, I like it but no matter how many times I look at it it just doesn't compute haha
