Finally I know what it feels like to fire my Uzi in .22, I have the first model that action arms put out for the SA .22 conversion unit , it was a POS right out of the box .It failed to feed, fire extract and eject, little by little I fixed the extraction and the ejection problems , but never could get it to feed , I worked on the mags and on the chamber making a feed ramp Still would not work.I called Action Arms and told them the problems that I was having with the unit and they told me that they didn't make that model anymore and wanted to know if I was interested in the new model(NOT).So after that it sat in my closet for the past 8 years gathering dust, then after I came to this site and Dave ask for a picture of this model for the reference library,I dusted it off and took the pictures. When I saw it again, I thought what else can I do to fix it. So looking at it again I notice the distance between the mag and the chamber was to small, there was not enough room for the round to exit the mag and enter the barrel . So I shimed the barrel forward .025" and it worked , So I lathed off the face of the chamber .025" AND IT WORKED
.I TOOK IT OUT THIS WEEKEND AND I SHOT MY .22 CONVERSION UNIT. I put 600 rounds thru it, two 20rnd mags at a time , my thumbs are sore from loading and I love it. There was one thing that happen after about 500 rounds. It started to fire in 2 to 3 shot burst, now I know some will say that it was because it was dirty, but I know it was GOD looking down on me and saying "Son you have done well, here is a bonus for your hard work
