I got visitation rights when bought my m11 and I used them yesterday. wow. The dealer said I could bring a few buddys and they could play to. IT WAS SWEET. He Brought some of his other NFA guns and let us put all the ammo we wanted/had through them. I shot a ak, uzi, mini uzi, M16, and my M11. I think that my next vehicle is gonna be a little shit box.

Lucky for me I hit a deer on the way home. hopefully the insurance company will total my truck. That will be a nice check towards my next gun.

My question is IF its totaled shoud I get another MAC or two, or something else?

You can buy a car any day at just about any price. They make em all day long.
price varies from 100 dollars to 250,000. As we all know machine guns arent being made anymore. I might have a good oppertunity to buy something I really want. that dosent happen very often.

Car - pay $35,000 today, and its worth nothin' in 10 years.

Full auto - spend $35,000, get an M16, a Uzi, and an AK47, and in 10 years you'll at least get all your money back, but more prolly have increased your net worth by several thou.

Spend as little as ya possibly can on a car. That'll work out different ways for different folks, but cars are an expense item / consumable - nothing more.

If you had tons of disposable income Im guessing you would not have to propose trading a vehicle for a firearm (which is ultimately what you are doing). Machine guns are a luxury and / or toy. The time to of "invested" in machine guns is gone. Yea they might still go up but not like they did in the past. You see, the internet causing awareness that most people can buy them has caused demand to skyrocket in recent years. Supply as not really gone anywhere in the grand scheme of things and I don't see demand getting another 1000% boost. Buy the most dependable vehicle you can afford and put the extra somewhere else like stock or an IRA

you make a good point, and your right, I dont have tons of disposible income. This is why I want to take advantage of the situation. Im not buying it for an investment. Ill buy it just because I want it and it makes me happy. If I get a check for 10,000 from the insurance company I would buy a 5000 dollar car (yeah you can get a decent veichle for that) and put theh rest towards a gun. Or spend 1000 dollars on a car and 9000 on a gun. you get the idea. Its just a matter of priorities.

Im curious too. you could argue that I already have one, just to get something different. But I see no harm in owning 2 of the same guns.

On the other hand what if I drove a Geo Metro and shot a American 180?

You already have one. Get something else. Your first post mentioned how much fun you had with all of the C3's toys.

Heres something else I was curious about, when I was shooting the m11 it was in stock form(i didnt take a good look inside). I was able to pull single shots very easily. This dosent seem right to me. doubles should be hard to to with this gun. When I tried my mpa upper, It would not even fire. It was like the bolt was moving too slow. I know its tough to tell without having the gun in hand and shooting it, but what was going on? Is something wrong?

They are just cheap, folded sheet metal guns. They were designed to be disposable. If you have one, why would you want another? I know nobody likes hearing this. I own a couple myself, but have no illusions about what they are or how they were built. If you want another cheap smg get something that was/is battle proven i.e. STEn, sterling, swede k, beretta, uzi. Actually if you got the extra cash my first pic would be an UZI (fullsize).

I would guess your bolt is dragging on something if you feel alot of resistance

I also think that the uxi would be a exellent choice. I couldnt believe how smooth it ran. And at 6000-7500 dollars, It would be a happy medium between a new car and a gun.

Well, In that case......... get the cheapest, reliable vehicle that suits your needs and if there is enough left over get an uzi!

I tend to agree with Chris. I have owned 2 M11/9s and a MAC10 all at the same time, and I really enjoyed them. But they were kind of redundant.

But I've since sold off two of them and only own a single M11 now. But now I've also got a Reising and an Uzi. Between these three subguns, I've got all of my bases covered to shoot in nearly any category of subgun match I want (except the Thompson-only classes). The three are different enough that they don't just become redundant. They each have their own strengths & weaknesses.

When I bought my Uzi, I had to really think if I wanted that or a Sterling. They were both in the same price range. I finally went with the Uzi, as it is more flexible in caliber changes & silencer attachment options. The argument for the Sterling is that it is sooooo smooth to shoot. It's got good sights and a good trigger, and larger-than-normal mags are available.

This was about the time Richard Lage was really just getting going with his MAX-11 uppers for the M11/9. Had I tried one then, I may have made a different decision. At the time, there were no good .22 uppers for the M11 on the market. The Lage upper really makes the M11/9 perform like an Uzi, and he now has good .22 uppers for the gun as well.

In your position, I'd keep the M11 and get Lage slowfire and .22 uppers. Then I'd get a Sterling and a bunch of mags for both guns.

Interesting thread!

Yeah, I'd agree about not getting a 2nd MAC of the exact same type, get something else if you can afford it.

But let's face it - most all of us have MACs as they were the most affordable C3 we could get. Soon as SOMEONE has a .22LR kit for an M11A1/380 - it'll be happy days are here again 'cause I'll be able to shoot my once-cheap MAC! :banana

And whoever said MGs were not the greatest investment - totally agree.

They're TOYS and that's it. Folks don't need MGs; they need food, clothing, shelter.

Your MGs only grew in value if you found someone to pay your asking price. Your $600.00 WH 1928 isn't worth $17K to me. Hopefully someone will agree with YOU and pay you your $17K asking price, else - you'll be sitting on it until someone does.

And no matter how much you do discount it - it is still not a liquid asset as long as it takes someone about 4months to take possession of their buy.

Well i got the estimate back from the shop. Im no where near the 10,000 I was hoping for. A guy can dream cant he? But on a good note I will be getting a 2300 dollar check. looks like a good chunk to put towards a uzi or a lage upper and some accesories.

What would you guys do with 2300 bucks and a new stock M11?

Max11 and reloading gear.

Good call. What kind of loader? A nice dillon 550? Ill be honest Ive loaded thousands of rounds on a hundred dollar single stage. It sucked. Will a progressive be that much better. I dont want to get to off topic with reloading though.

and does the max 11 really run more like an uzi?
