My original foam cover that came with my can is getting frail. Is there a low cost cover that will work with a RPB .380 can? What are you guys using?

I use a Bowers silicone rubber cover on mine and they are great but he stopped selling them. Strobro32's alternative is a good one.

Don't try to catch a hot suppressor as it's falling to the ground. And I didn't win AAC's branded for life contest.

I have a not worse story:

I attached my new rifle suppressor on a qd mount and rotated it one turn (like you would a 3-lug) and shot it.

And it went flying off 30-40’

I was like holy sheet. Went and picked it up and fortunately it didn’t have an internal strike / baffle strike. Just some exterior blemish from the gravel.

Lucky me. Don’t know what I was thinking….it was just a brain fart

There is a guy that comes by my range about once a month. He has a SWD M11/9. It has an unusual suppressor cover that he made himself out of two regular kitchen oven mitts that he cut to the right shape and stitched them together.
The design on the grayish colored fabric has little pink flowers all over it. I wouldnt say it's very "manly", but it is what it is.
I give him big points for ingenuity as well as not caring what others think about his creation.
The first time I saw it I asked him (half joking) if it wouldnt have been easier just to wear the oven mitt when hanging onto the suppressor, then just put the suppressor in an inverted mitt when he was done shooting but it was still hot.

Yikes! That's a good burn! I did similar with a UK59 gas block reaching to adjust the bipod. Did not smell like bacon.

A buddy of mine had the SN of my SiCo Hybrid scarred into his hand for a while after grabbing the can after a nice 223 mag dump.

I am in the no suppressor cover camp if not on a precision gun. Especially with FA we want to get as much heat out of the can as quickly as possible so if I have to touch the can I use gloves until it has cooled.

Me too. I do have a Nomex oven glove to help remove the can now that I keep in the range kit. Live and learn.

The original foam covers are just neoprene insulating foam for pipes. When I was an HVAC installer many years ago I worked with the stuff all the time, brand name ARMAFLEX. It’s the same exact stuff as the factory neoprene covers. In fact, when you order one of the rubber covers from EXCALIBUR (formerly SWD) it arrives as it was shipped from the plumbing supply house, with dimensions and other codes printed all over it in white stenciled ink, I had to turn one of those marked covers inside out because it made it look like a suppressor built using blueprints from a paladin press book (pain in the ass that was). I would suggest an original nomex cover, they’re a little steep in price but they are durable and long lasting, they work well and they’re a classic OEM accessory.

I can understand wanting heat dissipation with the lack of a cover… but the MAC was originally intended to be shot using the suppressor as a forward grip, so a cover is beneficial when using the MAC suppressor in this manner

I was wondering much the "nomex covered with black canvas with spring" dual stage mac suppressor covers are bringing these days?

3M 8429-6 cold shrink. Its cheep, has a nice rubber feel, handles heat well enough, doesn't move and provides grip.
Kinda like a big stretched rubber band. Pull the plastic cord out and it contracts.

I've got one of the Bowers silastic silencer covers on an AWC Agenda Six silencer that I use for 9mm as well as .380 ACP. The Bowers cover is okay for "light" use, but when the silencer gets hot, the cover gets slippery on its inside surface and slides off. I used to use a tether to keep the cover on. But with ammo prices these days, I can't afford to shoot enough to get the silencer hot anyway.
MHO, YMMV, etc.

I have an original MAC or RPB neoprene suppressor cover for the M11 .380 listed on GB, but it probably won’t go cheap, reserve is $99 but it they usually end up selling for around $150 or so.

OMG! $150 for that! I ripped mine off when I got the original 380 can with my M11 10-15 years ago. Guess I'm the dummy...
Give or take, no guarantees, but I’ve had the M10 foam covers sell for that much a few times at auction. May not get as lucky with the m11 cover, m11s are less common and the parts and accessories aren’t usually as desirable.

I'm currently on a project protecting cabling from welding damage. The blankets we found are rated to 1800F. I'm wondering how to stitch some into a tube......
