Is there an easy way to identify an actual Group industries built semi UZI, either by serial number or identifying characteristics, I think I have an original GI semi, I know they were uncommon, but mine has a early serial under 500015, no Vector marks, green furniture and correctly marked US marked "F" and "S" selector markings. your opinions about serial ranges and the like would be appreciated.

Group Industries didn't build the guns in strict serial number order due to the chaos going on there at the time, but with that low a serial number it's likely to be a Group Industries gun. Post a closeup photo of the button you press to fold the stock, and a photo of the bottom side of the grip safety. I should be able to tell from those.

That's an original Group Industries build. They didn't complete a lot of them, so keep all the original pieces together.

That's great, it appears unfired, only issue it has is that it came to me with a perforated barrel shroud/barrel nut combo which I'm sure is not original, I need to find a source for parkerized barrel nuts, not painted like the IMI ones. IMGP1945.JPG

Thanks for the lead, I'll probably order one from them, I'm not real keen on the barrel shroud.
