If you were to buy a top cover for a mini uzi, which would you prefer? One that is now being made new by stamping it out and you refinish for around $90 or one that has been cut and re-welded for around $50 that has excellent craftsmanship? I have sold 140+ of the full size top covers with the picatinny rail mount and am looking at doing some for the mini uzi. I don't know what you prefer or why some don't want the re-welded tops, not just solid enough after time or not fitting correctly or what.

The chopped ones would be fine as long as the welds are correctly done. I could use a spare for my mini too.

I bought both for my mini build, the Global worked without issue, the re-weld needed to be tweaked, they both look and function fine.

As long as it fits as-is, I'd rather have a newly manufactured one than a re-weld. No problem if I have to re-finish it myself. You plan to do any semi top covers, or just FA?

The ones being stamped are currently only for semi autos. I "assume" the welded ones are surplus full autos. Simple to change to semi auto.

The welded ones are FS FA cut and welded for the mini semi.

I just want one that drops in, fits right, looks good and requires no additional finishing or fitting on my part. How's that? Oh and Ill pay premium for that to boot. We just want mini top covers...for me, FA ratcheting types only.

So what have the problems been? I won't put rails on them and sell them if they have to be tweeked.

The re-weld I picked up from DandD needed the gap adjusted, no big deal, a 5 minute fix.

Getting it to co - witness on a mini is almost impossible. It's already hard enough to get a rail on it and clear everything.

I would prefer one that is cut and rewelded, with excellent craftsmanship for $50, if it is ratcheting. Also, would like a mount for an RMR, can you make that an option? And when will these be available? I'm in the market for 2 right now.
