Finally, a forum that I've been looking for!  I'm curious as to the total number of IMI Model A's, B's, Pistols, and Mini's that were imported in pre-ban format.  Anyone have any ideas?  I've asked on plenty of forums before and no one knew.

I've got a Model A and Model B, had an Uzi pistol and I sold it because the balance was horrible (if it was a full-auto, that would have been a different story, but as a pistol, I thought it sucked).

OK Uzi Fans, I can help on this.....somewhat!

From 1980 to and including 1983, there was 35,999 Model A IMI UZI's brought into the U.S. by Action Arms, the only importer of these guns.  Model A's were only made in 9 mm and no other caliber was available.  These guns are serial numbered from SA01001 to and including SA037000.

From 1983, until Federal Legislation stopped importation in 1989, Action Arms imported a Total of 36,543 Model B Guns in 9 mm caliber from IMI.  Serial Numbers on these guns were from SA37001 to and including SA073544.

There were no .45 acp UZI Carbines until 1986.  This is when they began to be imported into the U.S. by Action Arms from IMI.  All of the .45 acp Carbines are Model B's.  They were given their own serial number sequence, which looks like this:  45SA00-00XXX.
I do not know exactly which number they bagan with, but I have been told it was 45SA00-01001.  I do not know how many of these there actually were either,  but I have been told there was about 10,000 of them imported total.  I cannot verify this.  I pass this on as information for what it's worth!

I do not have any numbers, dates, or serial numbers,  on the Mini Carbine, or the UZI Pistol.  The Mini Carbine was only made in 9 mm and not any other calibers.  There is not a .22 LR conversion for the Mini Carbine.  There is not a .22 LR conversion for the Pistols, but they were available in 9mm originally, and later on also in ..45 acp.  Kits were made to change from one to the other, and also in .41 AE,  so you could have three different calibers in a Pistol.  Importation of Pistols ceased in 1993.

Also, Action Arms was responsible, in 1995, for bringing in and selling the "New Model B" and the Model 320 Norinco UZI Carbines with wooden (HandHole) Thumbhole stocks.

Hopefully, this will be a little info worth having.  It was taken from actual Action Arms records.

Great information indeed!  Thanks so much.

Out of curiousity, where did you come by this data?

I'm actually a bit surprised that there were that many Model A's and B's imported in that span of time!
