In 2014, what is the best option for supressing a 45ACP UZI?

Yes, I searched the archives. Based on who is making what *today* what are the best mount/can options for a 45ACP UZI? (vector with a GG lower to be specific)

I am presuming SBR conversion, all the right paperwork, etc...

Have not tried it on an Uzi, but my Octane 45 works beautifully on my 1911 and 9mm AR SBR.

I do hear good things about the Octane 45. I haven't found any UZI specific mounts yet.

Bowers makes an Uzi mount for his CAC-45. I don't have a .45 setup for my Uzi, but I've run 9mm and .40 through the .45 can. They both suppress very well. The picture shows the CAC-45 below the shorter VERS-9S. The mounts are interchangeable.

I have an Octane45 HD in Form4 purgatory and agree from my research it would be a strong choice. The Thompson machine sg-2 is another option I learned of after my Octane45 HD purchase. It's a user servicable I'm thinking I need one of these also. One of the admin at NFATalk forum just received his this week, no report on it yet.

When we started the SG project, we decided to build something that no other manufacturer offers; a quiet, tough, mono-core Submachine Gun suppressor that fully and easily disassembles for cleaning (we find this feature to be a necessity due to the large volume of fire and subsequent carbon fouling that subgun cans are subjected to). The SG-2 (new for 2014) has all of the features of our original SG suppressor and adds more. The SG-2 has a very pleasant, low tone and thread adapters are available for every popular subgun, including Macs, Uzis, the TP-9, etc. Thread adapters for the SG-2 are also available in common pistol-caliber thread patterns as well such as 1/2-28, 1/2-36, 5/8-24, etc. On top of all these desirable features, the SG-2 is priced to be affordable for everyone with a subgun to put it on. MSRP is $449.

The SG-2 is available in 9mm or .45. (The .45 bore suppressor is suitable for .40.)

As mentioned my Octane has not cleared yet, I'm expecting to use the 5/8x28 Fixed mount and an adapter.

This is why the thompson machine can is of interest. By the time I buy the mount and adapter for $400 more I can have a dedicated can.

Another option would be to have a spare barrel threaded (5/8x28 thread) and use the fixed barrel adapter.

I have both the bowers cac and a Thompson machine sg. Mine are 9mm cans but I like both of them and can't really tell a difference in the sound. Tone is different.

SG can be taken apart for cleaning

Cac has a superior mount in my opinion. The steel mount locks up with the barrel nut retainer and is rock solid. It will not come loose. The sg mount just snugs up on the retainer and can work loose. The sg mount is also aluminum.

Both are great cans but I like the mount on the cac better.

I'm just waitng for silencershop.com to get the vers 9s in stock to get one. I've got an SG (original) and looking for something in between that and an SWR Trident sizewise. I think the vers 9s is just about the right size for my m11/9 and uzi. The mounts on the vers are a huge plus too.

I just remembered bowers is discontinuing the cac series and going with the vers as their subgun can. I just had my baffle stack in my cac 9 upgraded to vers baffles and they told me that.

I'd heard that, but I do not know if there is a VERS-45 stack developed or in the works. One would assume so, I just hadn't heard.

Hmm. When I called and asked about BBL length with the CAC-45 nobody mentioned discontinuing the line.

For a new manufacturer can and uzi specific. Its got to be bowers all the way customer service is amazing!.

Trust me I know I have a costal mims as well works great if it could be threaded on straight lol baffle striking son of a B....
