Hey guys, newbie to UziTalk. Been in NFA for a short while but first MG. Currently waiting on other trust member to finish their 5320.23 and prints to get paperwork sent out. Im normally an AK guy, more than half the collection at this point is AKs. If its weird or soviet I want one.

Snagged a Powder Springs M10/45 with 37 mags, slowfire kit with A2 stock installed, charging handle thing that operates like an AR charging handle, spare mag catch kit, spare extractor kit, original stock, a few other little bits that I have not yet ID's and an optics rail with a $30 airsoft/BB gun red dot that wasnt even tight and flopped around like a bobble-head.

Anyways, Im hoping I can snag a Lage upper, Tekno adapter or a UltiMac depending on how they become available and what may work best for me. I would love the ability to swap calibers around at will.

Anyone have a good breakdown of the features of each?

Any must haves I should pick up while waiting for my stamp?

How long does it usually take to hear back from an email request for the UltiMac wait list?

Thanks guys!

I think you're good for now. I'd suggest stocking up on decent quality ammo (no aluminum cases or HPs). Some sort of Lage upper is usually recommended and is available right now, unlike the Tenko and Ultimac which we are all very hopeful for but are currently unobtanium. Post some pics and we'll help ID what you've got.

Welcome Deerhurst!

I think you'll find UT to be one of your favorite boards. Great bunch of folks here.

Pictures are a great idea. I agree with DistalRadius's recommendation to stock up on ammo. If your gun still has the original internal parts, I'd get all the Lage FCG parts you can afford.

Yeah,37 mags. A buddy in Alabama told me that was amature work and said he has a little over 70 mags for his Mac. Can't fathom spending that much money in mags for one gun!!

I'll be slowly stocking up on ammo or just rolling my own on the Dillon. I won't put aluminum through anything and only AKs get steel. Working on brass case loads for them too.

I'm sure it is all original inside. If my memory serves it looks hardly fired and was clean as a whistle! I'll start stocking up on parts and ammo over the next decade it'll take for the stamp to come back. Or at least it'll feel like a decade!

Any recommendations on what upper/adapter to go with if I want to be as multical as possible? The Tekno looks promising! I love the magwells of the UltiMac!

Hopefully I'll be around UT often! I'm usually on the AKFiles. Might see some of you there too.

Thanks for the warm welcome!

Welcome. If you really really like swaping calibers, then the ultimac and Lage 11/15 would be similar in effort to do so, but the Tenco would be the easiest to swap calibers on as you could just use ar/15 uppers. I don't have 37 mags for anything, that's a good solid collection. I would suggest testing all of them to see if they all drop free from your magwell. I found only 25% of mine did out of 12, then sell or trade the ones that don't.

You will be happy with your purchase. The Mac platform offers a lot of options, all at an affordable price. Lots of very knowledgeable folks on here. Welcome, and throw RoverDave a few bucks when you see how valuable this site is...

And welcome to the board! The guys here are great.

Lage Max10/31 is lots of fun w/72rd drums (9mm).

Would be fun! Makes me want to build my Suomi kit.

I like variety. I've got ARs and AKs in mostly things from 22LR to 7.62x25 to 20ga, etc. Sounds like Tekno is more up my alley. Could even have a piston 5.45 Mac at that point!!! Most of my mags look older than I am. When I get to run it I'll be testing them. One of those mags is easily 2 feet long. It's nuts!

I'm glad to be at a point in my life where I can afford a machine gun before the age of 30!

I'll look into the Mac Man book.

A buddy of mine has been hounding me to buy an apple computer for ages. I can finally tell him I bought a Mac with a HUGE shit eating grin!

I'd recommend against the MAX 10/31

I bought one and it burned through 7 30 cal ammo cans last winter and summer. I now have 1/2 a can of 9mm left until I get more reloaded on the dillion.

So if you want to have any 9mm around do not buy a MAX 10/31

J/K it's a great upper but I did put a hurting on my 9mm. Even shooting with the stock 45 upper and GG mags I don't blow through ammo that fast.

Also with the MAX 10/31 start buying drums for it they are starting to get rather expensive now.

You missed the 20 dollar a drum days by about 2 years.

37 mags is a nice starting point keep going.

Welcome to UT nice place here for the most part.

They seem to be. I'm used to the chaos, shenanigans and asshatery of the AKFiles. It's pretty mellow around here.

The lage 11/15 won’t fit

Almost forgot; this is the stuff that came with my Mac that I have no idea what it is.

Left to right, top to bottom

JCIpGIPl.jpg

O-Ring
Threaded thing, I assume a thread protector for the Uzi that was in the original owner's collection too. Threads are way too fine for the mac.
Steel plate. Flat on one side, rounded on the other.
Some sort of casting. Flat end appears to be saw or band saw cut.
Looks like a sling stud. Bottom protrusion is threaded. Internal protrusion is threaded externally and has a pin through it.
Random allen wrench.
Rubber spacer that appears to be for the plate.

Any ideas what these are?

Any info on the lack of a recoil spring in my mac? Looks like it has a pin that uses the A2 buffer and spring instead. Is this an old school mod? Does it affect rate of fire?

JMacken37 is spot on. The majority of MAC internals were made of "pot metal" (zinc) and are crap. Lage internals are the way to go. And welcome to UziTalk, some great people reside here.
