I am about to be in the market for a shooter. NOT full auto, NOT IMI. Just want a semi 9mm. See nome accept for deals on armslist.

Would prefer to buy new. I see the ones atlantic had dis not have the front sling swivel, which is a big turn off for me. Should never habe sold my last vector as it ran 100%.

Century? Cannot understand why no one seems to be. Seems like there are kits out there....

Am I out of luck and stuck buying used?

Also.....Have a chance at a local century uzi being sold by a 70 year old man. Says is 100%, no issues. Asking $700. Decent deal? 1 25 rd and 2 32 rd mags.

How hard is it to add the swivel? Do not like the incompleteness.

IIRC, there is a thread here that shows how to both bolt one on and rivet one on (rivet is the correct way, and, if you know how, is actually easier to do {I have never riveted on an Uzi, but I have riveted sheet metal.} AK builders who have riveted their receivers (and know how to rivet) report no problems.
If you don't know how to rivet, I'm sure YouTube has enough videos to teach you how to do it. (It's much easier than cutting threads into metal with a hand-held Tap)
If you would be more comfortable, get some scrap metal and practice; rivets are very cheap)

I have a century uc9... It's ok. Not awesome. Original firing pin failed after a few hundred rounds

My century UC9 has been stellar.

I did file the tip of the firing pin a little shorter because they were going so deep into the primers, I was amazed that they weren't popping right and left.

I also had to file some of the thread length off of the front sight post because it wouldn't seat deep enough to get proper zero.

I paid $550 for it new several years back when they were being produced.

given you can still buy a preban IMI for less than $1500, market for a new one may be limited.

Wonder if these new velocity ones will have the forward sling swivel? Going to let my ptr91gi and a sig p220 go to get back into a semi 9mm uzi.

Passed on the century.
