The SS will change everything. I suspect the status quo will change. :D

Let’s not get ahead of ourselves!

They couldn’t even pass the Hearing Protection Act. Which would have removed silencers from the NFA registry.

What’ll likely happen, is someone will use a registered MG in a horrible crime (mass shooting) and that’ll be all folks. Congress will ban them over night but if we’re lucky, you’ll get to keep them until your death.

I fear the fast E-File times (a couple of days) might be problem and I hate to say that but when you had to wait at least 6 (+) months, that kept a lot of people at bay.

Lastly, I really hope I’m wrong and I am sincere about that and I’d really like to try a Super Safety. If they work as good as shown, I’d NEVER buy an HK Sear. There’s a company that makes trigger housing’s for HK’s that uses AR-15 triggers. Throw one in and you’d be good to go. Way better than spending $40-65k.

The kids running around with Glock switches getting ahold of super safeties is what I fear. I know this perspective is despised around here but yeah, $10,000.00+ transferables taking 6 or 12 or even more months to clear were absolutely keeping us under the radar.

IMO, super safeties have the chance to speed up whatever legislation trouble was probably already coming in 12 -/+ years. To some extent I don't think the left even cares if super safeties are legal and to some level Democrats want something like super safeties to get into the hands of irresponsible people to speed up their efforts.

Marketing propaganda is lethal

B kings sells auto trips... way cheaper and easier to deal with then a ss. Bad people are going to do bad things regardless of what is legal. Hence the glock switches lol

While that's true it was the availability of glock switches that has created the problem, not their existance. You could always do an ar-15 - m16, but it almost never happened.

Yup. Most folks do not have a basic understanding that most semi firearms can become FA with just a tiny bit of work with hand tools in the garage. Often sketchy FA but FA none the less.

It is just easier to buy things. I love seeing the envelope being pushed. We can either live in fear or we can push the envelope and have a chance of time changing for the better. I do not plan to bend a knee but to keep pushing for our rights.

Bruen. Is it a bearable arm owned and used by a US citizen? Yes.
Did the US have any laws banning fast firing guns around the time of the founding? No
Protected by 2A.

Heller. Is it dangerous AND unusual? All guns are dangerous and stun gun ruling sets a low number threshold for common use. Protected by 2A.

Cargill. MG is defined by Congress as more than one shot per each trigger pull or movement. AFT cannot change that definition without a law being passed that does so. FRT and SS equipped guns are not MGs.

.GOV passes new law after sales of such devices exceeds the common use threshold, banning them. Facially unconstitutional.

I recently picked up a DLO HK trigger pack and was going to buy a M16 lower next year. With the Super Safety triggers out now, I probably won’t buy a M16.

The Super Safety is a creative and brilliant design and people are making it work in a lot of firearms like the AR15, AK, MP5, and AUG. just imagine all the new “hosts” you can get. I’m excited for it to be compatible with a variety of other guns out there that are not transferable. I would love the trigger in the B&T subguns, VZ61 or even a PS90.

If these triggers become accepted like pistol braces then I could see transferable prices going down, except for historic or collectible ones. Open bolt guns would still hold their value I imagine.

Would you pay $27,000 for an M16 lower or $100 for a super safety?…

100% yes but it takes that type of buyer. The people who can afford 30k-40k M16's imo are still going to buy them, maybe 10% - 20% go the SS route to scratch that itch.

People buying 30k+ transferrables already have their mind made up and I don't think a SS will change that. A transferrable purchase is based on emotion, dare I say viewed through the same lense as art. We all know how we feel about our select fires.

Prior to getting my toy-on-a-stamp, I'd gotten mighty good with a slidefire/20" barreled upper. I could hold all 30 rds in about an 8" to 10" group, sans a flyer or two.

That said, there's no comparison. Sure, there's a point of diminishing returns. I can't see ever forking $65k over for a (all-original 7.62x39) AK-47, or even $20k for a converted pre-86 semi, but something like a Colt M16 has real value, especially on market dips.

These wannabe products appeal to the desire to spray-n-pray, or to put a whole mag downrange as fast as John Rambo. They don't serve any investment or tactical purpose (aside from perhaps suppressive fire).

It's funny, when they outlawed bump stocks a few years ago, I threw most of a Bumpski out, and used the large piece to make a nice stock for my son's paintball gun. No regrets. Even legal, swapping barrels on an AK platform is hardly a fun task. With steel-jacketed ammo, you can really burn an AK barrel to shreds - fast. The expected lifespan of a front-line grunt with a Kalash is probably under one hour.

The AR platform multi triggers strike me as unsafe and clunky. The last thing a weapon like an AR needs is distractions from the intended target, be it paper or otherwise.

Even if you never intend to let another person try it out, deviations from a standard trigger add one more level of danger, and do not add any significant benefits to good marksmanship. In the right marksman's hands, 30 rounds should net 30 hits in under 30 seconds. Meanwhile, BillyBob with the bump stock has perhaps three/four hits on the mark, and is reloading again in a few heartbeats, while a trained marksman still has 26 rds after 4 shots on the target.

YMMV, but I'll take one nice NFA toy over doubles of every gimmick, strapped to two of every model they'll fit...

I have recnetly put a SS in my mp5sd clone and 9mm AR. They are simply amazing. I am putting one in my reverse stretch mp5 clone and am purchasing a 7.62x39 ar for another SS. I still love my 10-15 converted to 7.62x39 and will likley leave it in that config as a heavy mg (18" barrel). I often wish I had another M10 to keep my 9mm Lage on so I don't have to swap at the range to have some 9mm fun. Well, with the new SS no need to swap. Oh and I will be testing a SS on an AK soon and really hope one is made for my T7 (unlikely).

Your entire statement can be used against FA too. Ever see how bad of a shot the average person is? It's scary. Even in competition I shoot against some people that I really hope I'm never down range from because they may hit me while trying to hit something 180 from me!

Where do these crazy notions about how AK barrels last X amount of time come from? It's been proven many comblock barrels last an exceedingly long time (100,000s of rounds) from mag dumps all day long for years.

What the hell is an "AR multi trigger"? Isn't an M16 a 3 position FCG too?

There are quite a few of us here that have an exceptional amount of trigger time and varied experience across firearms and forget the general firearms owner has neither the money or the experience we do.

techspy, that's helpful info. Were any mods required to your MP5 SD clone upper/shelf to accept the SS/AR trigger style lower? I’m curious if an HK style lower/trigger pack can still be swapped out with the SS/AR lower in the pic.

I am using a Lee Sporting MP5 lower that accepts standard AR FCGs. The SS fit perfectly with the standard trigger mod. I am using a metal slip trip but otherwise no mods needed to the bolt/upper and I can put the standard mpy lower back on with no issue.

And in response to some other comments; I ran full auto MP5s, ARs and UMPs at work and this is just as safe, accurate and reliable as those were. The only difference is instead of a slide/rotating saferty, it is a push button.

I have Omega, POF and PTR and all are fine. There is always a chance you get any gun with issues. The new MAC 5 is getting great reviews and is a great price at $1k. Check out this forum for all things HK clones. https://www.hkpro.com/forums/hk-clone-talk.38/
A recent special mp5sd sold for $120k and they often go for $40k or more. I have ~$2500 in mine with no decernable difference in operation. It just isn't "authentic" which I don't care about.
Here is my newest HK clone, an MP7 (T7). Unobtainium.

Techspy I just ordered the ejector and slip trip for my SP5
Good to know there are no mods to the gun that are permanent.
Just waiting for the AR lower FCG housing to come back in stock.

Once I figure out the SP5 I'd like to put a SS in my Colt 9mm carbine and DPMS AR 22 lr not sure if the SS will work though in those two.

Even if they figure out how get one in a musket they are not going to replace transferables any more then a rubber brace will replace a SBR.

Just to be clear, some mp5 clones differ from the HK semi autos as they retain the front pushpin lower housing attachment. Instead of the wide mounting shelf they use a small one and weld in a block at the rear of the receiver. This block requires that the carrier be machined completely away where the OEM sear trip surface was. Will this setup clear this block?
