Hey guys I'm completely new to this forum and to the world of MACs. Much like many people here, I'm trying to get the most for my money.

The MAC-11/MAX-11 sounds like a really good idea to get into the full auto world.

So, with all of that being said, is this a good buy?

SWD M11 with Lage Max11 upper - $4,499 from http://www.firearmdeals.com/?q=node/4

It looks like a pretty good deal to me. No waiting list for it. I added it up and it is about what you would pay to build it yourself. Wrap it up!

Good deal. I did everything separate a few months back and it came to almost that. Plus of course you don't have to wait. You might want to see if it also comes with all the original stuff too. It is fun to shoot stock as well.

Based on current prices for M11/9's and Lage's current prices I would call this a good deal. It would easily cost you this much to do it yourself. I say go for it!:allright

By the way.....welcome to the forum!!!!:welcome

Thanks for the welcome! I sent the guy an email yesterday asking if the original parts came with the gun. I haven't heard a reply yet.

I too did the math for each component, it comes out to about $100 more than what I could piece it together, but there's no wait.

Everything that I'm reading about the Lage upper has been positive.

Welcome to the forum!

I would think you could build it a little cheaper yourself if you shop around for a cheap M11 and do your time on the Max-11 waiting list but it looks like a good deal to me.

well the mac is a little whipped but it's probably worth 2800
the max 11 is what, like 759, has the fixed stock, 79, the extended safety, 50 the grip, 79
so you're looking at 3767 plus a healthy wait for the upper.

given that I wouldn't sell mine for less than 4500 either so :dunno:

After seeing the prices posted by Philip_g I definitely added to much for the Lage products. I was adding it up in my head based on what my Max-10 cost but I had two bolts and a folding stock in my price. With that said I don't think I would pay $500-$700 extra.

Yeah, a buddy had to have one after seeing mine. Mine was $2,700 and my buddys was $2,600 and right at 1k each in lage upgrades. $649 upper, $49 for rails, $239 for sidefolders, $49 for the grip, and something like $25 upgrade for K-grip. So basically around $1015 + $2700 = $3715 and $3615. Both of ours were damn near brand new. I actually got put on the waiting list before I bought a m11. By the time you find it, wait for the transfer, and get it the wait will be about over. Not to mention they are fun guns without the upper. You could also take a couple of hundred off since we got the folders. We could have been out for closer to $3,400-$3500. So he's about 700-1k too high. I know people will say the avg. price is $3200-3500, but I've past on oh 8 this year below 3k. Hope that helps.

ETA: I forgot my friends was an out of state transfer and the seller even paid the tax.

I could have sworn that someone listed, on a post ,that they had a M11 with a Max-11 upper that they would sell for $2995. I 've looked but can't remember where I saw it. It was in response for somebody asking about the value of a M11.

I agree.....

The LAGE upper wait can be painful.... But $700-$1000 will buy a lot of ammo.........

Also concider..... If that MAX-11 is on a Form 4 out of your state, then that is another $400 in taxes.

So...maybe this isn't a "great buy"?

It isn't a "Great Buy", but it is a "Fair Buy". It just depends on how patient, persistant, and lucky you are when it comes to finding your M11/9. Yeah, some peple find great deals all the time, but most don't.

If you really want to put forth the effort to hunt down an M11/9 below $3000 then yes, this deal is a little steep. However, most people that are buying today are paying around $3200 to $3400 for a good gun.

Honestly, I think it is a fair deal for what you are getting. Again, you could do better, but how much time, energy, and resources are you going to use trying to find that "Great Buy"? It is really up to you to decide if your time and effort are worth a few extra dollars. Nobody can answer that question for you.

That being said.....I too wouldn't sell my Laged out M11 for a penny less than what this guy is asking!

Agreed.
I valued that lower a bit low because it looks to me like it needs a repark.

There are no SWD M-11 9mm SMG's listed on any of the sub gun boards for $2,600-$2,700!

I know a couple of dealers who picked up a couple on fire sales another from a broker at an estate sale, so don't hold your breath.

$3,200 and up is a fair price for an M-11 and w/ the Lage and assecories $5,000 is definately not out of line. Not at all!
