Go with the keepshooting.com ones...might have to do a little cutting on the stops, other than that; they're good to go.

NIW GG mags come in two flavors, blued and phosphated. If it's 70s production, they are likely phosphated and will need oiled to protect the steel (unoiled phosphate has virtually no corrosion protection), AND the internal surfaces will need burnished.

To burnish the phos inside the mag, load four rounds into the mag and repeatedly "plunge" the rounds to the bottom using a dowel, lattice strip, or paint stirring stick, etc. Repeat for 20-25 times. This burnishes the phosphate and allows the rounds to slide over the phos crystals without "locking" due to the high coefficient of friction. Without burnishing, a new phosphated GG mag is a positive mo-fu to load, and often they won't feed properly because the rounds stick on the phos and lock in place.

That said, I got all blued GG mags for my 45 Uzi GG lower.

HTH, and good luck,

Noah

Evertime I see one of your products, I wish I'd purchased a RDIAS rather than my RR gun when I first saw one years ago. The price was $3,500 when M-16s were selling for 5k. :bang

Hi,

I just wanted to drop in and say hello, I am a new member who has been lurking around for a couple of weeks, and I also recently bought a Velocity VMAC45. I must say I am very pleased with the $350 bucks I spent. 20 years ago I had almost an arsenal of all kinds of firearms, but with kids and a wife I kinda lost interest in shooting. Well, interest came back and today my Velocity firearms VMAC45 arrived, and I can tell everyone it is a class act for the money, even the dealer who arranged transfer was impressed (who has a Powder Springs MAC-10...the real deal)

I dealt with a gentleman named Dan directly through Velocity in Minnesota, and he was a pleasure to deal with, very friendly, got my pistol with the tracking number out the day I paid for it, and it was a perfect transaction.

About the pistol. The fit and finish is excellent, the magazine and bolt cycling is flawless, and it shot perfect right out of the box. I was surprised by this piece as the welding on the rear plate and especially the handle to lower receiver was top notch and better than adequate...better than my RPB M11/9 I had 20 years ago... the welding near perfect on the handle.
The pistol came shipped in a decent box, comes with a case, the front hand strap, a magazine that appears to be a grease gun mag in perfect blued condition, a simple trigger lock and instruction booklet.

After hearing and reading all of the pro's and con's about the manufacturer, it seems that Velocity has really gotten their act together, the best value I have experienced in my 30 years or so of firearms for a hobby. I hope I this post does not sound like a commercial, but this hunk 'o' steel is a definite winner!

Is there any way of telling if the GG mags are phosphate or blued when they are all NIW? I've got around 40 or so NIW GG mags in different types of wrapping and I would rather like to know if there was a way of telling by the type of wrapping if they would happen to be blued or phosphate without having to unwrap them all. Thanks.
