Something is not making sense. If nothing is in the receiver, why did you order a firing pin? Are you just pulling our leg?

That's a great idea jimmyd.
Take some pictures of the overall gun from both sides, then take the top cover off and take some close up pics of the insides from a top view.
That act would put alot of minds to ease.
Pictures speak louder than words, and detailed pictures can answer alot of questions if you want some help getting that gun together to shoot.
Go grab the camera!!

And here's the inside. It had a blocking bar and a barrel restrictor ring. No apparent signs of tampering. jimmyd, I still recommend that you have someone local help you inspect the gun and obtain the parts you need.

RD,
for your "A" research
by the pic it seems the Sling swivel turns only 90 degrees.
The rivet is shaved...

Couldn't the 10 inch barrel he inherited with the gun be one of the display barrels?

And why would it be illegal to have a 16 inch SMG barrell for a semi-auto UZI? It wouldn't fit in the gun.

new uzi help

jimmyd, what you are dealing with "it kinda sux cause i have this gun and noone around here can do anything for me. they act like it is a huge crime if they do."
is a tremendous amount of ignorance of a particular gun (Uzi) and fear of federal prosecution due to that ignorance.
those of us who have learned from experience understand some(nobody knows it all) some of what is & isn't legal. it WAS possible that you might have improperly in ignorance acquired a full-auto uzi. With the pictures & additional info you've provided, indicates that is not the case. As others have wisely noted, it will be helpful to you to scout around & find a gunshop where there is more knowlege & less assumptions ("them Uzi's are all illegal machineguns, and the Feds arrest anyone who even touches one....." ) to help you enjoy your Uzi more.

"does this gun look lagit.. " yes, you have what appears to be a legal semi-auto Uzi.

Keep on asking questions, none of us were any smarter about Uzi's to begin with, and one of these days you'll be helping some other newbie who doesn't know squat & wants to learn....

in the meantime, buy ammo, and keep reading!
