After long 8 months of wait from ATF (submitted my damn form-4 on Jan 10th of this year), I was finally able to pick-up FNC from my class 3 dealer today.

Mine is Hawco import folder w/ 3rd burst kit installed.
It looks pretty good and can't wait to shoot it at this weekend.
The gun is pictured w/ B&T rail & newly released H&K 416 transparent mag.

Just wanted to let you guys know that I took this forum's advice and successfully removed the rifle's serial# & info from the "additional info" section of newly approved form-4.
Now, it only has the sear info & serial# on the form-4 instead of rifle married to the sear (not sure this is the correct term).

Now, time to ask you guys some question:

1. Where to find some cheap real FN M249 SAW grip?
Is it worth to replace w/ original FNC grip?

2. I've B&T rail on my FNC, pros & cons compare to Stormwerkz?
Stormwerkz rail is lower than B&T?
I could not see the iron w/ B&T rail installed.

3. Should I pick-up firing pin & extra barrel? do I really need them?
I'm planning to shoot at least 3K rounds per year w/ mainly short burst.

4. Any other accessories to get or FNC operational precaution I should be aware of?

Thanks to this forum now I'm a proud owner of FNC!

I have the Tapco SAW grips on my semi auto FNCs and find them an improvement on the factory grips. I bought mine off an auction site. I guess you could get original FN M249 grips, but I did not find it necessary to go that route. I also have the Stormwerkz rails on both rifles also. I never had a B&T so I can't compare them side by side. With that said, I am completely satisfied with the Stormwerkz rail and their customer service. As for spare parts, I am an old time Eagle Scout and the Boy Scout motto is "Be Prepared". So I trust that answers the question about spare parts as I have both extra firing pins and Green mountain barrels for my rifles. I did not buy everything at once, but acquired these items over a period of a few years. Stormwerkz also makes a stock adapter that will enable you to fit any AR-15 stock to the FNC. I absolutely hated the factory folder.

Congrats on the new rifle.

1. yes, I believe the saw grip is cheap effective way to modernize the rifle, not to mention making it more comfortable to shoot. You can find saw grips pretty much anywhere. Just google it.

2. Yes it is but its not that much bigger than the stormwerkz rail. If Irons are really that important to you then you could switch it out, but i suggest an optic of some sort.

3.yes on the firing pin. If a part were to break on the fnc the pin would be it. As for the barrel I wouldn't bother, just dont be doing any crazy mag dumps and youll be fine.

4. My fnc shoots 55 grain privi 5.56, I had a hard time with the pmc 55 grain .223 as it didn't always want to cycle. So that should save you some time there. Also you might want to get a quad rail installed,TBA makes then and they hold up pretty good. I suggest it because the standard FNC hand guards (in my opinion) on full auto are shit and will roast your hand.

Cool gun man!

Here is mine,
http://www.uzitalk.com/forums/showthread.php?67537-Getting-my-FNC-worked-on/page2

Ive updated it since then, i put a surefire muzzle brake and i've got a sure fire 5.56 socom RC suppressor on it.

FNC Barrel

Hi, nice gun. I think you might want to consider one of the FNC Mags you see advertised on GB. I wasn't real happy with the feed on plastic ones. Also, definitely buy the spare firing pin. There's a fellow selling them on GB also. A bunch of us on here purchased them and they're nice. I would agree that you will probably never have a need for a new barrel. However, having said that, if you have an extra two hundred bucks Green Mountain sells a nice replacement and its a 1 to 7 twist which is nice. I like to buy what I can from these Manufacturers in the hopes that my loyalty will persuade them to make more parts.

I'm expecting my FNC to be approved next month. Do you know what the part number is for your B&T mount? I'm looking to get one too. Thanks!

I have the DSARMS SAW grip on my FNC. Love it! So much better than the FNC grip. I also have the stormwerks rail. Happy with that choice too. I just hd my FNC rebarreled with a green Mountain barrel to get the 1/7 twist.

Go ahead and get a firing pin or two. My Howco FNCs are semi only and the pin broke in one of them. Lots of folks are running FA all the time and haven't had any issues, so YMMV. Fairly cheap insurance to keep your baby running and it only takes a few mins to switch out.
Don't bother with the B&T mount. It similar to a B-square FNC mount and blocks your view of the front sight. Get the Stormwerkz...it's rock solid and has a channel cut down the center so you can use the irons without having to remove the mount.
Mags can be crap shoot for some. I haven't had any issues with any brand so far, but some people find PMAGs are tight and won't lock up. The newer Lancers are nice and pretty much all GI issue mags work just fine.

JFK52: Thanks for your advice. I will look into that AR stock adapter!

ad263210 : Thanks for the ammo advice, will definitely avoid that PMC, although it cycles superbly on my registered full-auto AR.
Might be a barrel twist or extractor issue?

krag : thanks for the link sir!

jimdet : You're absolutely right about the plastic mag.
My new HK mags fit very tightly on FNC and would not drop free.
I'm going back to D&H mags.

C1 Congrats sir! the part# of my B&T mount is: 21178.
I got it from the seller as a package, and it fits nice but blocks my iron sight.

willbdavis Very nice! how much did you pay for the labor on barrel swap?

dash Thanks for the link sir! I think I will go ahead and get a extra set of firing pin.
The new titanium firing pin is very tempting!

AGG Thanks for the kind word... I got it for $6700 and looks like new inside.

Firingpin: yes
B&T: not unless you got a military FNC, it doesn't fit 100%
Get a cheekrest, it lines up better on the optics
Install a comp, helps alot

Coolhand: It's not an extractor issue/ ejector (i thought it was at first too) the PMC just didn't have enough "oomph" too fully cycle the bolt unless the gas setting was switched to adverse.

I still use it on my transferable lower M16 as well, although Im pretty must sure my Hk416 10.4" upper will shoot almost anything.
