Its killing me that I have not been there yet, building small cabin in north TN. been going up every oct. and april for three years. and still have not made it,and this year we wont get to TN until around Halloween. Have fun guys.When I move there Im sure it will happen.

Thanks for the well wishes but if I finish dead last I would be happy. This is to me more about being among good friends and wasting ammo. I have and always will view subgun matches as a just for fun only thing. See you all in a couple weeks.

Guys, I have been told that rooms are sold out for miles around 6 months in advance. What is the best way to insure that we can get a room? Probably not this Oct., but for sure in April.

For April? Book it now. I usually try to stay in Shepherdsville if I'm staying for the weekend. But yea, they get sold out pretty quick for the next shoot.

Look for the Country Inn and suites behind taco bell, or the Best Western. For god sakes don't stay in the Super 8 unless its your absolute last option! I only made that mistake once.

Or stay at 264 and Dixie. It's about 30 minutes to get to the range, but it's isolated and quiet.

We stay in Shephardsville and I book the room for the next visit when we check out.

I stayed at the Super 8 in spring. There was a smell in the room that could not be understood. Like 30 years of people smoking funky stuff and it being painted over then left in high humid hot room for mold funk to grow on it. But the best part is when we went to get ice, told the ice machine was not working. Then the "boss" came into the little office and had to explain to the desk clerk that the bag of ice that she was just sent to get at the gas station was meant for guests! So I will confirm that unless you are looking for a smelly lumpy bed to crash on do not go there!

You hit it right on the head twzadms. It's like something out of a Stephen king movie. If worse comes to worse and you do have to stay there, make sure you disinfect anything that touched that motel. The one time I stayed there, after driving 6 hours to get there, the first vehicle I saw in the parking lot was an exterminator.....excellent.

We're staying at Value Place on New Cut Road in southern Louisville. There's a shortcut through the woods that gets you pretty close to the range. Stayed there twice before a few years ago. Hopefully it's still up to the same standard

Does anyone know offhand if there is construction on any of the highways down that way? I don't wanna get stuck on an apocalyptically stand-still highway

We had a 2.5hr extended drive in April on 71 between Cincinnati and Louisville. It shows a lane closure mid way that ends in a week. I don't know if that was the issue last time though.

I'll look at Waze when we get closer.

Waze shows clear. 75 from Perrysburg to Finday sucks. Not sure if you take 80/90 across though.

There is construction on I65 in Louisville. It can be a mess when traffic is heavy. Just a heads up.

There is construction for a new bridge going on that can affect 164E & W, I65 N & S , and I71. Try come either before or after rush hours, if possible.

It would be I71 that I'd be concerned about. I'll probably be through there around 4am +/- a half hour. Do you think that's pushing it?

Stay away from Motel 6 also they had bed bugs. I reported it to the front desk. They were rude so I gave up and left. They sent me a letter at home called me a lair but a few weeks later they were on the news as infested.
