Do you get pretty reliable results if you load 40 rounds? My experience is that I'm more likely to get some failures to feed early on if I load 40 rounds. I load 35 and it seems to work better.

I do and I don't have any feed issues with the first few rounds out of the magazines. I have a couple of mags that only want to take 39 rounds and I don't try to force the 40th into them but I can live with that.

Just got my email yesterday afternoon, I ordered 4 extra magazines with it. I'm about to order the McFadden Lightnin' Grip loader too. This should be a lot of fun! I think eventually I'm going to get a dedicated side cocking upper for it so I can swap between 9mm and 22lr easily.

The side cocker is nice. With 22LR you always have a few duds and with the side cocker you can more easily eject them and keep going. It's also easier to have a dedicated upper to save on messing around with filthy parts while you are at the range. Get a bore brush for the range and a can of some kinds of spray cleaner to clean off most of the crud so you can keep on shooting. After a few hundred rounds the system gets a bit filthy.

I'm getting a dedicated side charging upper for mine. US Machine Gun offers a offers a service for that. They're local to Lage and are picking up my kit directly from them. I'm using the USMG upper.

I'll end up sending mine to US Machine Gun for that service and upper as well. I made the mistake of buying a 22lr suppressor that isn't full auto rated so I'm in the market for a new one. I'm going to play with the kit some and see how reliable it is before sending it to USMG. I've heard some people have had better reliability shooting the kit suppressed.

So has anyone used the Lage conversion with one of the side cocking uppers? I read on the website that the conversions were designed for the original upper with the hockey puck charging handle, and that with the side cockers it may run differently.

The lage kit utilizes the top charging knob. You would have to drill and tap the bolt for side charging uppers

You need a side cocker with a spring loaded cocking knob to run reliably with the 22 conversion IIRC. This keeps the cocking knob forward, which keeps it from contacting the bolt and robbing it of momentum. It will run faster in a side cocking upper because you won't have the additional weight of the reciprocating cocking knob attached to the bolt. Side cockers are non-reciprocating. You don't have to mod the lage conversion bolt AFAIK.

No modification is needed to the Lage m-11/22 bolts to use the MPA, USMG or PS M11/9 side-charging uppers.

It is a good idea to get the spring actuated side-charging versions of the side charging uppers for the reason bigj480 stated. They are available from Practical Solutions.

Unless there have been changes to the latest Lage .22 conversion, you’ll need to have the bolt notched to engage the charging mech in Richard’s Sk upper. My particular kit runs best with Sam’s GG side charging upper. I don’t have the new version in hand yet, so I’m not sure if my minor tweaks were made.

The Bolts in this current batch of .22 kits are already modified for use with the MAX-11Sk. The bolts are stamped with a “K” on the top front of the bolt.

I'm #128 on the list, signed up the day I purchased my M11/9. Curious to see if I get this or the stamp first.

My kit should be delivered today, I also ordered a USMG side cocking upper. I will report back once I get a chance to try them out together.

Considering this option as well. USMG lists two uppers, one for 164.99 and another for 166.99, but I don't see a difference in the descriptions. Any preference between the two choices?

I think they are likely the same upper. I ordered the same style but mine already had a barrel installed. This is the one I ordered http://usmachinegun.com/proddetail.php?prod=M11S-SCS It was on sale the other day under the Sale Items tab but it's gone now. I got my .22 kit yesterday and installed it in my stock upper everything looks good but the magazines didn't lock-in as tight as my 9mm magazines. I can pull them out without hitting the magazine release but I think they will stay in while I'm shooting.
