Any opinions on the Max 10/31 vs the Max 10/31k? I’m planning to buy one of the two but not sure which.

I’ve already got a Max 31k for my M11 .380. On the one hand, I kind of want the 10/31 to be a little different, but on the other hand, the M10 setup is the heaviest already (compared to M11 or M11/9), and with a full drum and suppressor, I imagine it could get pretty unwieldy.

I have the 10/31 on my M10 it's not bad with the octane 9 and a drum.

I have been shooting it a lot every week lately due to converting sten mags over to it.

I wouldn't be to afraid of the weight from the upper a drum and can.
Kinda a benefit really.
You could write your name with a full drum or check your watch while the rate of fire just chucks em out.

With the mini uzi stock it is front heavy though due to the length of the upper loaded drum and center of gravity.

There are instructions here on the site for it.

It's easy unless you want to do a pallet of 1500 mags like me then it's a setup process converting back to 32 rounds from 20 rnds, making jigs, testing. fixing bad mags, and refinishing.
I went half retard and bought a pallet of those 20 round sten mags last winter when they hit the US shore that everyone is selling right now for 10 to 20 bux each.

To do it yourself:
There are prints from the member Concord for making tabs on this site somewhere.
A sheet rock or zip screw mag conversion on this site.
Or use a suomi mag catch tab.

I just copied the suomi tab off the back of a mag.

It's not hard to do just two or three mags. unless you get a bad mag and have to start resetting it back to OEM Mil. spec. so it will feed.
Without the prints and tools it will drive you mad.

Anywho now that we have managed to derail your thread in two posts don't let the weight or size of the 10/15 put you off it's a great upper for the money.

Also Lage sells a converted Z mag on his site for the 10/15 uppers around 50 each but don't quote me on the price I've never looked @ them I only know from reading here he has them.

Crap. I have a bunch of those sten 20 round mags too. Sten mags can be converted to MAX-10 31K?

Without bolt mods?

as the Sten is a single round on the top feed that would presumably be to narrow for a bolt designed for a wider (double feed top) Suomi mag? or maybe it fits???

The various Lage 31 variants don't use double feed magazines. They use Suomi drums (single feed) or various Shockwave magazines (modified or with adapter, both of which are single feed). Or apparently you can use Sten mags too, probably some other modified ones too, but not the double-feed Suomi sticks.

I use Sten mags in my Max31. Just have to squish them front to back a little and add a tab on the back. I squish them about 10-15 thou front to back in a vise, machine tabs, braze them on and then function check. None of my sten mags are nearly as reliable as shockwave mags.

I have both, I really like the 10/31. Only reason I purchased the 31k was I like to get whatever is made available for the Mac 10. I like both but prefer the longer 31 it's more Thompson like with a drum.
You can't go wrong with anything lage makes.

I prefer the stem magazines. I file them and hammer a little to get them to fit in the mag well. Then I 3d printed a Suomi tab for the back. My original 3d printed tab is still going but then I cast some out of zinc. I bolt them on then jb weld around them.

If you want them to be reliable update the springs that helps a lot but also more importantly be sure the bullets present at the right angle 7 degrees. If not adjust the feedlips.

PAM 2 mags might work also.

I have 6 but have not even tried due to the amount of sten mags I have.
They are however single feed double stack so in theory should work once modded.
