After Lage finishes their work on the 11/15 uppers.....who else thinks a Five Seven upper would be an amazing nextie???

Should start with the 11a1 :)

Watching this vid and I cannot help but think it would be really awesome with the lower recoil of the five seven vs 556

I think they would be better off doing 10mm upper for the m10 or something else like a 22 that takes the am180 mags.

The best was to do a 5.7mm upper would be to do something like ar57 did for the ar-15, build something that takes p90 mags.

Maybe Thompson Machine can give Lage the m11/180 upper that’s continually denied so Lage can finally get it approved. There’s no reason the TM upper shouldn’t have been approved compared to other approved uppers with included feeding devices capable of being fired by simply enclosing the recoil spring at the rear.

Having shot a post sample P90, I can say I do like the caliber in this platform on full auto mode. It’s super sweet shooting! I’ve also watched the small, expensive round fail to put down steel in sub-gun matches while 9mm has no problem. It may be a good choice for high value security details, but that’s it as far as I’m concerned.

It’s a hard pass for me.

I don’t see the fascination with the 57?
It’s expensive and what I’d prefer my enemy be armed with in ww3

A am180 would be a major new upper

Nice if it could be $1000

Nope easy pass. Plenty to come for the MACs that should come before this!

First one to do this will be a winner, and we will see a real bump in receiver prices.

I'd vote for a 7.62x39 upper. I realize that with initiative and the right tools, it's already possible to mod the MAX-11/15 to do that but I would like to see that next. Maybe call it a MAX-11/47 or MAX-11/30. Also, maybe a 7.62x51 NATO upper. The latter would be awesome as a belt fed.

I think a belt fed upper for the Mac10 would be amazing. IMHO the Mac10 is too heavy & bulky as an SMG, but all of its extra heft would make a great base for a belt upper. However, I fear if the 11/15 runs 3 grand you are gonna be looking at a 7-10k option for the belt upper, which of course is far cheaper than a M60

Really? Less recoil than a 9mm, lighter ammo, effective out to 200 yards, excellent magazines....it could be the little brother to the 11/15 and the closest thing to an MP7. I think it would be perfect for the 11a1.

Id like a AM 180 upper

Not another AR upper.
I think a quality, reliable 22LR upper has been sorely needed....[EDIT] was as going to say this belt fed 22 upper is sexier

However, upon further review, I read this freedomboner of a review and now am hot and bothered lol

Mehhhh....gay

How can an upper have a sexual orientation? I find this comment offensive. My wife identifies as bi. Because she is attracted to the person as opposed to gender she is somehow "less than"?

It has already been done:

http://youtu.be/zU5XkqnewFw

This is a video of an original Shrike running on a Tenko 10-16 adapter. To be honest I have no idea when we will get to market. On March 8th we got an email stating that the evaluation was completed and waiting for the Chief of the FATD to review and sign. I wrote to ask the status on April 19th. On the 22nd the FATD wrote back :

"Your sample has been received and is pending assignment for evaluation. Current response times for industry (FFL holders) is longer than 6 months. All other inquiries will be worked after industry as time permits in the order they are received."

So which is it? Was the evaluation done almost two months ago or are we still waiting on the evaluation to be done?

Gay is also a term that is used to mean “stupid” without connotation to sexual preference.

Gay or not gay is a common comedic theme.

I hope your wife is attracted to bi women who like 3somes.

I have no personal experience with this caliber but it's my understanding that the 5.7 cartridge is totally ineffective for anything other than armor penetration at short distances using the LE/Mil only AP ammunition (which we normal civilians are not allowed to have). Let's assume for this thread that we are talking only about the non-AP rounds. The JHP gives you a 23 gr bullet at about 2,300 fps at muzzle? That's what wiki says anyway. 22 mag is 30 grains at 2,300 fps. I'll take the 22 mag.

The 5.7 civilian round is literally about the worst self defense round available. This would give very poor terminal ballistics. Ice pick wounds. I don't think you would get any expansion, cavitation, or yawing in a wound channel. Ice pick.

Cost of ammo for 5.7 is $0.40 per round compared to 223 at $0.27. I see not benefit to this round at all. Hard pass for me also.

5.7 seems to hold its own vs the 45 & 9mm at the 5:03 - 6:10 test

Also, FA 5.7 looks really fun
