Lage MFG Belt Fed and 10/22 Uppers - New Release

That's really cool but the timing isn't good right now with the Lima 6 and FRTs. Going that route you can get a nice setup for about $4000 for everything. Yes, an FRT isn't true full auto but for the money I'd say close enough.
As for the 10/22 upper, that's awesome but I'm with Strobro on the BD 40 round mags. 10/22 mags kinda suck especially for loading. I can load my Lage/BD 40s in less than a minute with the McFadden loader but I've never had good luck with the 10/22 mags using that loader. I'm still in the camp that would like an upper that takes the AM-180 275 round mags. Yes they take a long time to reload but you're also getting 275 rounds. The time-effort to load each round isn't bad at all because you aren't forcing the rounds in you just kinda push or drop them into position using the little feed tray. A Lage upper that takes the AM-180 mags would make the electric loader an attractive accessory.

If that works then I'm in for sure. 275 rounds is as good as a belt fed without the hassles. I want to be able to write my name in the dirt with bullets like I used to write it in the snow with my, uh, never mind.
Is $10k for a Mac upper steep? Sure it is, but look at options for true beltfeds. If you have an HK sear get an HK23 to MM23. Either of those will set you back $10k plus the cost of your sear. If you have a RR AR15 sure you can get the Flightlight or Lima6 for less, but that registered receiver is three times the cost of a MAC. I am certain there are a lot of proprietary parts in that upper and it is a small niche market to make up the R&D cost.
So basically I am not shocked by the price like some of you. Do I want one? Yes. Am I going to be the first one on the wait list? Probably not. It has been a rough year and there is not a lot of money in my toy fund. That is not to say I wont get one as some point when I have funds available.

Why fuck with a Lima 6 and get a true tested and operational "ARES" Fightlight DFX upper (under $4k) or MCR are (under 6k) MCR can swap out barrels. Plus it is mass produced, has a warranty and parts are easily obtained?? That Lima isnt even in mass production is it? A $100 dollar lower (complete) and a FRT of your preference or the SillySuper/ SuperStupor and you are way under 10k and dont need a 8k to 10k NFA registered M11/10. So for under 5k DFX or a MCR under 7k you can have a guichi AR beltfeed?
I was hard pressed to get the Max10/15! The belt feed upper will not sell well. The 22lr kit will do better, but again people running cmmg 22lr kits with FRT and having great results. Whats the price range on the 22lr?? 3k plus?? Pass for both.

Comparing a true HK23 (RR/RS) to a drop in conversion for a different weapon receiver is not the same. People will pay a high premium for authentic light MG vs drop in conversions for a different receiver. HK23 was a production belt feed, that operated with the HK weapon system.
This is more compareable to say the MGA/ Long Mountain Outfitters M249s/MK46 that use HK frames or the BRP XMG M34 kits for AR variants (which the ATF ruled can not be used on RR unless SOT2) Not the same as an original variant/model. And both those models were hell alot less then 10k minus receivers.
I'd be interested in the 22 upper depending on price.
Bought a transferable mini uzi whiile I was collecting glock long slides when they mentioned last April they were getting disco'd.
Like others kinda tapped when it comes to higher priced stuff.
Not to mention we have been looking at the cyber truck as our next ride.
The truck will come before the upper.
So while I want one I won't be on the 1st run or probably the 2nd run either.

If the Tenko hits the market you may be able to toss a Lima 6 or a "cheap" fightlite on it for maybe $2-3k less. Then use the same upper on your M16 and AR.
No knocking the Lage upper. It's awesome.

The 770 rpm on the .22lr will be really nice. Since it’s a dedicated .22lr upper, designed specifically for that round, I expect this upper will be the cats Meow. I don’t think Mr. Lage would offer another .22, unless is ran flawless. Really looking forward to seeing one for the .380 guns.
