hey guys. Took the full size uzi out yesterday to continue to break in. So far about 200rds of 124gr fed through her. I had issues since the start. Seems to be getting better, but it does really light primer strike about every 10 rds (photo below). Any ideas? I've changed mags, cleaned, lubed etc.

Try another recoil rod and spring or another bolt
Check the top cover gap to see if the bolt is rubbing
There is an Uzi tuning guide in the library

Your alignment looks off as well the strike is off center could be a crooked gun
What is the make of your gun
There is no break in with an Uzi either works or don't

Pay attention to the orientation of a light primer hit when you eject it. If the primer hit is high/low/left/right that will help to indicate which way your gun was built crooked, hopefully it's high and your top cover is just loose letting the bolt ride up vertical.

Hey guys, thank you for the replies and sorry for the delay. It's a RMUZ built in a McKay receiver. I've attached an image of my full size top cover that's having the issues vs my mini that runs flawlessly. There seems to be rubbing on the top left of the cover and nowhere else. I will go through the fine tuning to see if I can improve it.

Hi there. Also, check to make sure your barrel is tight. I had problems with my barrel nut coming loose because of some broken teeth on the nut. If the barrel isn't tight, that situation can cause light strikes. New nut, problem solved. When you tighten that nut, hold the retainer back so it won't wear the teeth. Good luck.

It would be worthwhile to run a set of rounds with a sharpie marking 12 o'clock on the rounds as mentioned above to get a feel for the consistency of where the strikes are. Whereas I have seen McKay firing pins a couple of years back that were a hair short, most of the light hits were too much top cover gap that allowed the bolt to ride high in the receiver.
