So I have lurked here for quite some time over the years and recently browsed through all the forum pages. I recently have gone through my kit stash and the itch to build the ARM kit I got back in the early 2000's has started. I have one of the early ORF (#40) receivers and understand all the issues that go along with them. Reading through the forums, I was looking for some specific info and really couldn't find a answer to one question......

After closely approaching 20 yrs and all the ORF receivers out there built by various builders, how have they been holding up?

I only shoot mine occasionally, have about 500 rounds through it. I have not seen any wear or tear, my ejector looks fine, and rifle shoots fine.

It thought it developed a little bit of trigger slap, but last time I shot the rifle (about 3 weeks ago), I did not feel it. But I also shot my Century SAR-2, and that has LOTS of trigger slap.. :slap

Mine is around the 2900 serial range bought in 2008.

check the hardness of the rec. and go from there.
personally I'd look at a new rec. as yours will most likely need the locking lugs machined among other work.
